Desperately seeking small pony gelding

Anyone have a quiet older small or medium gelding who needs a leadline/w/t home ? Maintainable soundness issues ok, have dry lot if needed, parents are super horsepeople, must have impeccable ground manners, will only be ridden under trainers supervision. Child has had two ponies PTS in one year, one vision problem, one w/ lung tumours. Will free lease, minimal paid lease or purchase, very flexible as to terms, excellent vet, farrier, trainer references, can visit etc. Fantastic home with lots of love and cookies, located near Annapolis MD.

Horseless Rider here in Northeastern Ohio, close to Mentor, Painesville, Perry, and Madison.

I’ve ridden mostly western with a little english, and am fairly experienced. I worked in a training barn for 5 years and have been trained horses.

I’m looking for somebody near me who just wants somebody to ride their horse (with them or without) a few days a week. I’m comfortable with just about every type of horse.

I don’t compete but wouldn’t mind it if asked, but I love to just train and/or do trail rides.

Please email me at crouchingcheese@yahoo.com if you’re interested or PM me, I’ll be checking back here.

Riderless Horses in Cincinnati!

I have several Tennessee Walkers that need riders. Due to my stepfather going through a lenghty cancer treatment/recovery his and my mother’s 3 horses are not getting the trail miles they need, I just can’t keep up with theirs and mine combined. All of the horses are very experienced trail horses and we have access to many miles of trails (over 60) from the barn. Also have trailer for hauling out, but truck is in the shop for engine overhaul. Also, my mother is willing to do a free lease on one of her mares, a very sweet and well-behaved gaited black/white tobiano to the right person. Free lease would be onsite, she doesn’t want her moved. Horses are all boarded north of Cincinnati near Kings Island. Would love to have a rider or two to help me keep these guys in shape! Wonderful, sweet trail horses and very experienced camp horses also.

Horseless Rider in Austin, Texas

After moving to Austin to ride more, I’ve ironically not seen a horse since July when I got here. I am now DESPERATE, especially as my life seems to be going farther and farther down the toilet. Must. Ride.

Alas, I’m broke, seemingly all the time, so the opportunity to ride is pretty slim. I can ride anything, have experience training, just need to get back in the saddle. Large ponies are OK, anything smaller might be cruel as I’m 5’8".

Will travel!!! My helmet is sitting in the back of my car and haunting me daily.

Horseless in MD!

Hello,

I have a mare who is sidelined for the year due to founder. I live in Montgomery County, MD and would love to have a horse to ride for the next year or so even if only once a week. I just had a baby myself so have been out of the saddle for a year but prior to having the baby, I rode six days a week and competed at recognized shows and qualified for the regionals championships over the last few years with a few different horses. I can give references from a local FEI trainer and while I can’t pay for a lease, I’d be glad to cover the cost of some dressage lessons to make sure that the horse’s training is correct and consistent while I’m riding. I’d also love to compete but that’s less important than having a horse to dote on again while my mare heals and becomes a mommy! My only request is that the horse be safe and relatively well-behaved.

Thanks for your consideration!

Horseless Rider in Charlottesville, VA area

Although I’m not completely “horseless,” I have a 3-year-old mare who lives 3 hours away and lack the funds to start her professionally (she’s also still hitting some major growth spurts). Basically I’ve been out of the saddle for several months but would love to find an opportunity to start riding again. Although I work full-time, regular lessons or leases just aren’t financial possibilities right now.

I’ve mainly ridden hunters but have a solid dressage foundation. Since I’ve lost some riding muscle, I would prefer a horse with at least the solid basics and not very spooky/flighty. I have years of experience with the “quiet” greenies and have ridden plenty of different personalities.

I’m relatively new to the area and would love someone with an extra horse looking for a riding buddy. Or just someone with a straightforward project who could use a few extra rides each week. I’m also willing to help out with barn work. Thanks!

ETA - I love the large ponies too - I’m 5’8" but light.

Horseless rider in Milton, Florida

I am relocating to Milton (near Pensacola) in a few days, looking for a horse to ride… thanks

Hey Everyone!

I have a Riderless Horse! I’m about 5 1/2 months pregnant and have decided to stop riding for the rest of my pregnancy but my gelding still needs someone to toodle around with him!

He is a 9 yr old OTTB about 16.1 hands and needs an intermediate rider. He is pretty laid back and when in work (3-5 rides a week) can get a little lazy. Right now he hasn’t been ridden in a few weeks and can be a little frisky. He doesn’t bolt/buck/rear but will get silly and spooky when not in work. I would like to just have someone to hack him around and keep him some what sane for me until the baby comes.

I’m located near Keedysville, MD. There is an outdoor ring for riding a little bit of trails that are available when there isn’t any snow or ice. Thanks!

Riderless Horse - Gainesville, FL

I have a riderless horse too!!

I’m in vet school and just don’t have time to keep him in shape. He is a 9yo TB gelding, professionally trained in dressage to 2nd level. He is quite out of shape right now, and will need a strong, sensitive rider. He’s not a bucker, but can get spooky/silly when he’s not worked regularly. When he’s in regular work, he’s an awesome horse, and has the smoothest trot you’ll ever sit.

PM me!

I have a Friesian Warmblood mare (Georgian Grande)who needs a home, She is in Greensboro, NC! SHe can travel! I live in Boone, NC. (Western corner).

Bella is a black/chocolate 7yr. late-maturing mare who is very smart, very flashy, and very althetic! She is 16h or just under. She seems to still be growing…well, getting bigger boned and muscled, anyway. Bella has been ridden 4 times a week since Sept. by an experienced rider in Greensboro who wants to make her an eventer, but she is not moving fast enough to compete in the spring and so the rider has chosen a new horse. Bella shows great potential for dressage, eventing, jumping…Bella is an amazing personality - very mischivious and likes to be busy. She seems to ride best for a take-charge, firm rider who makes her follow through. But Bella will do anything for praise!! SHe is a barrel of potential that I want to share with someone. After three knee surgeries, I know I cannot do her justice. I am biased, but I cannot say enough about Bella. She is a TRULY beautiful girl, built grandly, and could really go far with the right person. I am intereseted in a long-term freelease for Bella, or would even do a month to month so someone who is a good fit can try her out first. I have photos to share and her trainer can talk with you. I am trying to get her back into work asap, she has not really been ridden much for 3 weeks due to weather. Who knows if her soulmate is out there. SHe has no bad habits except curiousity and a getting in your space (she is the first one to meet you at the gate…a touch ADD maybe too…) but will respond to praise, love, and consistancy. No bad training, as far as I can tell! A clean slate. HOpe I get some response! Please email me or even call, 828-297-5221.

Horseless in NE PA(Wilkes Barre)

A general overview about myself. I’m 25 years old and started taking lessons when I was 4, got my first pony at 8. I’ve been riding since then, started in dressage/eventing but have mostly been doing hunter/jumpers. Lots of experience with green and OTTB’s, restarting and retraining them. I love thoroughbreds and find working with OTTBs very rewarding. I have some experience with youngstock, and have started a few babies. I’ve also worked with babies in teaching them to lead, stand for farrier and shots, walks around the farm to get them used to new experiences. We’ve had horses on our own property as well as boarded, so I have experience in both types of environments. I was an assistant manager/general caretaker/trainer a breeding/training farm home to 20 horses and ponies. I’m a very quiet rider with a balenced seat and soft hands. Workman like equitation but very effective in helping the horse to preform to the best of it’s ability. I’m hardworking, honest and very dedicated. I love to learn and absorb new information like a sponge. I’m very quiet and easy to work with. Would love to be able to catch a few rides and am willing to ride anything! Feel free to PM or email, l.siegrist@yahoo.com

Anyone near Giddings, TX…

… that would like to help recondition a 17.3h Dutch WB 2nd level dressage gelding? Or maybe ride one of my other horses that isn’t getting enough exercise due to my job taking over my life this year? I’ve also got a 17h TB mare that is very green, but very gentle, and she could use some mileage on the flat. And a 15.2h paint mare that will need reconditioning once I wean her filly in the near future. Also have a 5yo, 16h nicely started Anglo-Trakehner mare that is fairly uncomplicated, but could also use more mileage on the flat and over low fences. Different horses have different needs, so it would depend on what the rider is capable of. Lemme know if you’re interested and nearby. Thanks!

Horseless Rider in Boulder/Denver, CO area

Hi!
I recently moved back to Colorado from the big city o’ LA (read: waaay too expensive to have horses!), and am eager to get back to my first love: riding.

I’m in my 30s, have been riding most of my life, am super mellow, very quiet, light hands, gentle seat - hunter/jumper background.

I did lots of A/A hunter/jumper showing back in the day, but am looking to have some quality time loving on and riding horse(s) whose owners may not have the time to devote, or perhaps a horse that needs some rehabbing or special attention, or maybe one that just needs to stay fit and sound.

I’m 5’7", kind, fit, experienced and absolutely adore horses!

~Amy
