riderless horses and horseless riders?

Riderless Horses in Washington

Liberty Farms Sport Horse Company, with 2 locations in Olympia, WA, and Graham, WA, just started a program for people needing good quality horses to ride. It is called the “Rising Stars Horse and Rider Development Program”. They are breeders who breed primarily Hungarian horses, and some other warmblood breeds. They offer several different options, such as purchasing a horse at a discounted price, leasing a horse, or developing a horse and share in the profits when the horse is sold. Riders must apply for this program and horses are awarded based on horse availability, rider ability, references, interviews, etc. Most horses are very versatile, with abilities to compete successfully in the dressage, hunter/jumper, or eventing disciplines, but some may also be able to do endurance, driving, or western. Most horses are green, but have been started correctly under saddle.

Semi-Riderless Large pony in GEORGIA

FedEx is a 10 year old Top of the Line Large pony Gelding. He is a gorgeous black, and sturdy enough for adults. He has very comfy gaits, is great on trails, and goes western or English. We think he has Morgan in him, as well as POA. He has schooled 2’9, been to one show, and is a cute mover to boot. We have pastures, a few trails, arenas, and jumps nearby. You can even use my CC English saddle, if you don’t have one. Please PM or email me for my phone number.

Pictures of FedEx are on my website in my Sig. line below:

horseless rider -gaited horse needed - northern NJ

I have found a TWH for part lease, but not sure he’s gaited enough for me to be pain free.
Either way

BUMP BUMP BUMP

riderless horse near Seattle (Bridle Trails)

Fun all-around horse available this spring/summer (possibly longer) and boarded right on beautiful Bridle Trails park. 9yo, 15.1 hand QH/TB mare, athletic, cute, and friendly. We were taking regular dressage lessons, she happily jumps 2’6"-3’ at home (although she’s not an easy ride) and she loves a good canter on the trails. Fantastic ground manners, but she’ll get pushy if you let her. Ride the trails, take some lessons, compete at the shows in the park - she’s up for just about anything.

Horseless Rider- Northern Virginia

I’ve been riding since I was 7, I’m now 15. I’m looking to learn more about eventing, ect. and to actually ride a horse that can JUMP.

I’m also looking around to catchride at shows, I’m 5’3 about, I’m not skinny though:lol: but right now I’m riding a 13.3 hand pony that I look fine on. She is a schoolhorse, and I never get opportunities to ride her.

Thanks in Advance!

Temporary Horseless Rider - Wellington

Hi,
I am looking for a temporary free lease type of situation in Wellington. I’m going to be there from May 22nd - July 15th (2 months) for an internship. I plan to take lessons but it would be nice to ride more than once a week. I don’t have a ton of money to spend since I’m in college. I ride hunters and have experience with many types of horses including youngsters. I can give you more background if you msg me. If you have something or know of someone please let me know, I would be incredibly thankful!

Bump.

If any of you horseless riders are close enough I live in south central pa and I have two horses to share. One is a semi retired eventer/hunter gelding and the other is my hano mare. Both have wonderful temperaments, they do jump (gelding is more talented at it as my mare only does low stuff) and they do trail ride. My gelding is very willing, however he does spook (fast side steps or a rush forward) once in a blue moon. It would be nice to have someone to trail ride with.

BTW I forgot to mention the opportunity to get lessons from a grand prix dressage instructor that comes to my place.

Horseless Rider- Richmond, VA

Horseless Rider itching to ride! Have been riding 20+ years. Started in the hunters and equitation. Did the Pony Club thing in Northern VA. In college switched to eventing and fox hunting. Evented through training level , schooled prelim. Hunted with (and active member of) Farmington HC in Charlottesville, first flight, until I moved to Richmond. Showed dressage through First level, schooled second level movements. Greenies are fine, no crazies please. Small enough to ride the small ponies (though I look silly). PM, Email (megan.holt@yahoo.com) or give me a call to discuss further (804) 564-5757. Prefer something within 30 minute drive of U of Richmond area, but would consider farther for the right circumstance. Look forward to your response!

Riderless horse - Brenham, TX

I have a very out of shape 15.3hh Oldenburg/TB cross mare that is fairly petite. She is 13 years old and trained through 2nd/3rd level dressage. But, has not been ridden consistently in quite some time. She is available to ride at my farm. I have an outdoor sand dressage arena and trails. She is sensitive but does not have any dangerous habits under saddle. But, she will not tolerate a beginner. Just needs a training/first level rider with a quiet, independent seat and steady hands. This mare automatically goes on the bit and is forward thinking. Will need some time to get back into show shape. But, would be available to go to local shows once she is ready. Was shown extensively many years ago and was a super star at shows - always scored in the 60’s with high score of 74.5% at first level.

She would also be available for an off farm lease to an approved rider and approved facility after several test rides at my farm.

horseless rider Fairfield County CT, Northern Westchester

Horseless rider looking for a little riding opportunity  I am 39 (or will be shortly), rode as a junior all the way up to big eq finals, rode in college on my IHSA team my freshman year, was high point open rider in my region and went to nationals to ride in the Cacchione Cup. Unfortunately quit riding after a bad fall in 1990 and only restarted in May 2007. I have young kids and a part-time job so I don’t have alot of time to ride, so looking for once a week (Fridays are the best day for me). I have had the priviledge of riding a COTHrs retired show horse for the last 18 months but he has some paying leasors now so moving on.

I’m in Ridgefield, CT but would drive about 30 mins from here, which could be Newtown, or Wilton, Redding, or NY, Brewster, North Salem etc.

Thanks in advance!

Horseless rider in Syracuse, NY

I’m moving to Syracuse, NY, this August, and I’m looking for a horse/horses to ride. I’m a 25 year old female, and I’ve been riding hunt seat since I was 12. I’m a quiet, persistent rider, and I have experience working with stubborn as well as hot-headed horses. I owned two mares for years but had to give them up to go to school. Over the last few years I’ve ridden others’ horses and helped out at a horse rescue farm (working with the ridable horses so they could be adopted out). Please PM me if you have (or know of) any possible opportunities. Thanks!

This is a great thread. One thing that makes me sad is to see that a lot of horseless riders and riderless horses are too far apart. What a shame!

Horseless Rider - Tulsa, OK

This might be a long shot being in Oklahoma! but…

*I’m looking to get back in to riding more now that I’m done with school. I have one ridable right now but need more in the saddle time.

*I’ve trained up to Level 7 jumpers and am comfortable riding almost anything. I’m good from problem horses to horses that just need more riding time to horses that need a confident rider to jump to whatever else you can throw at me!

Horseless rider in Orange County, CA

I have been riding hunters/jumpers for 15 years. I sold my last horse about 3 years ago due to financial reasons. I am 1/2 leasing a horse right now and riding 3 days a week, but I would love to ride more. I’d be happy riding every day!

Riderless mare near Portsmouth NH

7 yo Ottb mare in Seacoast area (NH-ME). I have another horse and no time! This 15.3h girl is cute, sound, good mover and just needs a job. And a good rider, as she’s had the winter off, lol! She is rather mellow by nature but, she’s still an energetic Tb and has her “moments”…!!
