Runhappy's trainer fired day after Breeder's Cup

Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your very kind thoughts. It was my honor to serve my country.

“We love you, even when you’re pompous.;)”

I think my wife feels the same way.

It is easy to misinterpret someone’s “vernacular” with just the written word. No body languish, voice to go with it.
I was joking Gumtree, I didn’t think you were being pompous, you were stating an opinion.

Oh my, what a piece of work… http://www.paulickreport.com/news/ray-s-paddock/mcingvale-timing-was-terrible-but-we-did-what-we-did/

Monkeys and parrots in the furniture store…
I think Bill Mott did it/maybe still does it. We had a filly with him and I remember seeing horses jog the day after they ran.
I didn’t want to name names since I’m kinda foggy. That same trainer blew out a horse 1/4 the day of the race and the horse galloped…fine line between brilliant and crazy…

It does get quite painful to the senses.
I had to stop reading. Say what you mean or QUOTE someone.

When he said he was like Donald Trump, that was really all I needed to know

There is another side to the story. Maria has been neglecting her other horses and failing to pay her rent on the farm she leases. This would be the second time she is being evicted for failing to pay rent and for damaging the property.

I don’t know these people from Adam, but if it is true that the horse had a little heat and swelling and it were my horse, I would rather have it out walking or even a little slow jogging followed by some cold hosing, rather than getting a dose of bute and standing in a stall. However wacko the owners may be, I agree that physical remedies make more sense than chemical ones, in the way it was described in the Paulick Report.

Actually, maybe a combo of all three? What do you racing trainers say?

He had his best racehorse in the store back in the 90’s!

I’m not defending her, but it was my understanding that some owners owed her money. I think it was a condition of getting her license that she had to catch up on her bill to the farm. And there is no basis in fact for the neglect allegations.

It depends on what the issue actually is. If it was simply a little heat and filling, and there was no suspicion of an injury sustained during the race, I would be fine with a light jog, or at minimum, a 30-45 minute walk. And yes to a little bute for a day or so - inflammation is no good. And hosing or ice as well. With a horse of Runhappy’s caliber, the vet would be involved. Most vets will check in with their clients after the race, and again the next day.

This whole story plays out better than any soap opera. It is nothing more than a case of the goofy leading the goofier - take your pick who belongs in what category. I know a guy who took out a restraining order on Maria -a guy! If a crazy takes out an EPO on a fello crazy, you know its bad. I wish someone would scoop up Runhappy and take him to a reputable barn with a reputable owner. Because hes the real deal. When he goes to stud I hope to breed a running QH mare to him.

I wish a guy like Baffert could get him.

Maybe if Maria had received her percentage of BC winning purse and gotten a fair salary contract, she could clear this all up. Are you trying to suggest that because she was having financial problems she deserved to be treated by MM the way she was?

Don’t know when the last time you walked a backstretch or studied the history of various personalities in the racing industry, but the stories of it breaking the backs and humbling (financially, emotionally, and physically) many good horsemen and women is well documented.

Please make the connection for us related to delinquent payment of bills, rented farm fixtures in disrepair or damaged, and Maria’s struggle to make it in horse racing to her getting shafted out of a % of the BC by a multimillionaire whose reputation begins with reported early experience for dealing and using cocaine and continues to today of leaving innocent and well meaning people wondering what make of bulldozer just ran over them.

I love the connection that MM made in the PaulickReport article of himself to Donald Trump. Really gives validity to his personality. What’s The Donald up to now days? He is running for President while savaging everyone around him. There is no doubt in my mind that MM and Michael Gill are closely related because this is just a remake of that terrible ride for the industry just a decade or so ago.

The sad fact is that no matter the individual circumstances or explanations, horse racing suffers. Maria made some poor business decisions. No doubt about it. But on the upside, she brought a very nice colt back to health and saddled him for all of his subsequent wins including a BC championship. Wohler couldn’t do that.

There are hundreds of thousands of Marias across all disciplines of the industry. There are maybe a few hundred high end trainers like Mott, Baffert, Pletcher, Lukas, Van Berg et al. The high end trainers can afford to make mistakes like bringing MM’s horses into their barn. The Marias can’t.

You can look all you want for flaws in Maria, but she did nothing to deserve the treatment that she got from the owners of RUNHAPPY.

Actually the neglect accusations have been backed up with videos filmed by the farm’s owner. My son’s riding instructor has been to the farm and witnessed the neglect and damage done by Maria.

And this information was reported to the authorities and an investigation was made to verify your post? Clearly a serious charge. The riding instructor let it slide without a word to any officials?

You got link or article? If what you say is true the press, considering Maria ’ s notoriety now, would be all over this. Surely the videos would have been made public? Facebook can’t be verified.

Hahaha - guess you don’t know the Baffert/Mcingvale history.

The owner of the place has numerous videos and has been posting it since march --as she has been trying to evict her…there are some pretty skinny horses

Yeah, but -Mattress Mack of course.

I find it a bit odd the “owner” is just now going public with this supposed factual info. If it has been going on for as long as she’d like the general public to believe, then why didn’t she pursue legal action before?
Sorry but something smells a bit like BS…
