Runhappy's trainer fired day after Breeder's Cup
I know that a lot of them have already kicked him out. — MM certainly did not leave all of those trainers voluntarily. Back when I first met Laura she had quickly been licensed because Zito had just thrown MM out of his barn, and the horses had been moved to the training center on Paris Pike.
At this point, they actually went to Steve Moyer over on Paris Pike, not Laura. my ex husband worked for Steve at the time. MM leased the big barn on top of the hill where the Racing Academy is now, then Laura took over a little later. Maybe when Zito fully threw MM out.

Can you set it to public? I get content unavailable.
Looks like it was taken down. I have the screenshot that I posted earlier still but for whatever reason it is super small when posted here.

Got a workout report a couple of days ago for RH at Lexington. Hasn’t gone west yet.

I am not familiar with the racing term: putting on the long paints - can someone explain this to me?
Not a horse racing term at all. Young boys wear shorts, men wear long pants. So “Putting on long pants” refers to acting like a grown up. Of either sex.

Yes. I am familiar with the saying: “Putting on long pants.”

First time I have revisited this thread since posting.

Yes it I meant PANTS. Sorry. Funny how one doesn’t pick up on these things when proof reading before posting. It read “pants” to me. I assume it did to others also it is a well used “saying”.

I know! LOL!
Once I posted something about … I think booties? Can’t recall.
Of course it auto-corrected to ‘boobies.’ Twice. :o
Yeah, that got me a ribbing.

Yep, just got a workout report from Santa Anita. Can’t wait to find out who will be the trainer of record.

Wow. All I can think of when it comes to them is DJ. Must be they like controversy? Truly hope it works for them all, though - especially for their horses.

I wonder if she is going to stick by her comments about not wanting to put drugs into her horses, or maybe she was just parroting McIngvale!

He is now having a vaca at a barn run by equally crappy people…poor horse. For that barn, I’m sure it’s all about the $$$$.

That didn’t last long…

http://www.paulickreport.com/news/ray-s-paddock/borell-drawing-away-stables-part-ways/

“Maria was nice to work with, but I guess she just got in over her head in finances,” he added. “With our deal, none of the bills go to us; they go to our trainer. Our trainers get the majority of the purse because they are paying all the expenses.”

Anyone who takes deals like this is an idiot and it’s a sure recipe for disaster. Runquickly from any and all owners who don’t actually want to pay the trainer for services rendered. Don’t. Take. Horses. On. Deals.

ah the horse business…people are expected to exist on wishes and dreams

I imagine it is hard for a young, female trainer to break into the business so she’s taking the deals she can get even if they aren’t wise. I don’t know her personally so I don’t know if it is entitled hubris or naive optimism but in either case it’s not good business.
