Yes. One of the best trainers in CA! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Works with Francie Steinwedell Carvin and Dick Carvin at Meadow Grove (located at Middle Ranch). She’s the one I see most walking courses with their medal kids.

Paging Racetb. Here’s your chance, try to remeber the year on Kim’s Song retirement.

Ah Lauriep, pleeeease, ya gotta help here. Its that damn grey horse of Richards, you must know what his name is??? Fell thru the floor boards of the van on the way to a show. No one knew it had happened, till a motorist signaled that the horse was hanging thru…He made it, and no one could believe it.

Silly Mommy - Gorgeous

Ponybreeder, it’s one of those things you just don’t forget.

I remember Boren, but I think I’m getting him mixed up with Viren - the Crosses jr. horse in Michigan.

lauriep, that has got to be one of the better stories I’ve heard!

i remember reading the book on Beacon hill Stables (Madden & Cooney) and being entranced by a horse named Charge Account. i think the riders name was Topping. Then i came across some pics of the same horse in GMs Hunter Seat Eq book. I always think of that lovely horse when people talk about “true” hunter form! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

does anyone know the title of the aforementioned book? i’d much like to find a copy but I can’t for the life of me pull the title from the dredges of my brain.

aahunterjumper - Taravariant is still around enjoying her retirement (she will be, I think, 27 this year). She is the reason for EVERY good ribbon I ever walked away with in the Children’s hunters. The first year I had her (when I probably had no business riding or showing) she was on autopilot every time I went into the ring - she knew her job. But once I learned how to ride a little, she was TOUGH! I have the utmost respect for Michelle Conway who took her all the way Madison Square Garden because did she ever have that dreaded first-fence-idis…

Several years ago Patty was riding a daughter of Aldie Belle in the IHF. There was quite a resemblance.

Or was it a grand daughter? My how time flies…

I often wonder if the stars of the Sixties, early Seventies would be winners today.
</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I think they would be successful today. A good horse with presence in the show ring is timeless and could adapt to today’s fashions.

Will add to the jr. hunter list: Halekalani and Bride Groom

<BLOCKQUOTE class=“ip-ubbcode-quote”><div class=“ip-ubbcode-quote-title”>quote:</div><div class=“ip-ubbcode-quote-content”>en don’t mind grey hair, it beats male pattern baldness. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Actually some men do mind grey hair!and use color, in fact, I am told that redken has developed a color product especially for men.

When I worked in Wisconsin many years ago, Ellen VanDyke still had Ruxton! He was retired, living out his golden years in the field. She would periodically ride him in bareback and snuggle with him! LOL!

BH1 - I agree!

As for A/O and/or Jr. Hunters…I’m partial to a red appendix quarter horse affectionately known as “Soupy.” Although his arch rival “Dudley” was no slouch either.

Martha Wachtel marrie Pierre.

Yes, Mary did pass away. I think about 7 years ago.
</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I remember that Louise’s stepfather passed away right before Christmas 1995. I had a horse in training with her at the time and I had made arrangements to come see her go, and Louise’s SF had died the day before. Poor Louise was devastated. I think Mary died about three years later.

There was a time when,
Frank had Mr. Campanini
Buddy had Sourball
and Leslie had Gala Attraction.

Racetb, that’s awful
I remember when AT stopped at the big brush box in the Maclay finals. They had to trot it in the test. I guess it was pay back.

I always liked the picture of that lovely blonde girl on that horse. I believe after her junior years she moved him up to jumpers.
