Show Hunters of the past
Alright,I did a Search and Found Becky…She is at Camelot Farms in Scottsdale,Az.

She is a Great Person!!
Becky Warner is not a great person. Unless, you consider someone who sleeps with other people’s boyfriends a great person!

Murmansk did show in the juniors with Joanne Houston among others.

Whatever happend to Karen and Sandy Nielsen?

show hunters of the past

i will include my own while she didnt get to a ton of top A shows she gave me my first trip at Upperville, qualified for devon in green conformation but I did not take her as she was not ready, I won some incredible local stuff with her such as working hunter championships at big Virginia schooling shows when they used to have 70 entries in the hunters. Questionable Return by Return to Camelot, my wonderful friend and a beautiful quiet red head mare, now deceased but never forgotten

old hunters

As a westerner, I did not see many of the famous eastern horses, but read about them and saw several from California- does any one out there remember Peggy Steinman’s 301? R. jenkins showed her at the big shows until she was sold and went out west----i bought her in 1970- she did very well until some unfortunate lameness isses came up. Very long and sad story- great horse- by Setubal- had many siblings out and about-

horses from the past

I remember Setubal and the wonderful hunters he had produced!

Anyone remember the horse Most Wanted?

There was a chestnut junior hunter Most Wanted that was ridden by Cody Baird and won everything. Around the time that Georgina Bloomberg was going strong in the junior hunters, as well. Most Wanted was chestnut with a blaze and had a fairly large, roany “spot” behind the hip.

Most Wanted is now owned by Bryan Baldwin and she did him in the past few years in the AA hunters. Not sure if she still shows him, but I do believe she still owns him.

I know this one is not as old but what about The Wizard. I love the pictures in my cousin’s house of that horse. Fell in love with the picture before I ever knew about the horse and then got to watch Rodney’s video where he was featured.

anyone remember ?

Night Pomp and Stanley Garrett?

Talk about a name from the past! Does anyone know what happened to Stanley Garrett?

night pomp

I loved Night Pomp… what a horse !!! We used to ride her in Virginia before Stanley bought her.

What about the string of horses involved in the mess of Stephen L. Smith. They had some really nice ones…Without a Doubt, Leave Me A Roan, and Heartstrings. All were national champions. I believe Jeremy Jacobs bought all 3 of them at auction for the price one of them would have gone for and then sold one to Patty Raynes.

Thanks for the info on Most Wanted. I knew his sire well and see some of his siblings on a daily basis.

What about Don Stewart’s hunter Auspicious from the 80s…he could be a pig…but man when that horse put in a good round…WOW.

The greatest Large Junior Hunter of all time…Dillon who was always owned by Michael Sasso…GREATNESS!! I watched win many a class with Karen Mckelvey and Sloan Linderman.

Tim Keas Holy Smoke was another favorite.

And what about Don Stewart’s Stepping Stone…cool horse…but there was a reason that he was nicknamed Stopping Stone.

Cap and Gown
Stocking stuffer,

Navy Commander

Isolde

I remember Stanley and Night Pomp very well. A formidable pair.

I miss Stanley a lot.

I loved Stepping Stone…Never knew they clled him Stopping Stone…Too funny!

Auspicious was great too.

Don had many nice one’s . How about Plain Brown Wrapper and Elfin Magic. I absolutely loved Elfin Magic.
