…perhaps because they got the winters off? Or perhaps because they didn’t lunge?
Another horse that was almost unbeatable in her prime was Terracotta. James Hulick rode her and my old pal Gail took care of her.
I think Kenny’s “streak” is about 23 years long, or thereabouts, taking him back to the '80s. And we all know that his, um, shall we say “involvement” with the winner has, on occasion, been rather limited.
On eyewitness authority, on year Diana Dodge had a colt that Sallie/Kenny knew would win. Before BYH, the eyewitness was sent by Sallie, BLANK CHECK IN HAND, to Diana with instructions to fill in any amount she wanted. Said eyewitness didn’t stick around long enough to find out what amount was filled in, but colt went into BYH with Kenny leading and in Cismont’s name (things were a bit easier to get done back then, particularly for certain people). Horse won, Kenny continues streak…
I think it is still there, but I wouldn’t swear to it.
What about Eden Rock, Sally Sexton, Dear Junor, Cameda, Dave Kelly rode them. Saxton Woods,Black Atom Mrs Randolph’s. Spit and Polish,Spanish Mint, Chappaqua, Silent Manor,
Kimberton.

Claudius…Army Wife was on the same van as my eq. horse one year at New York. I was about fifteen, and stood in the truck petting her in awe the whole morning! I remember when poor Junie died during MSG too…and Terry sobbing </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Terry quit school and was planning to ride horses for Junie “forever”. Junie was “the man” back then. When All Around pulled into a show with all the vans, everyone knew they’d win everything in sight!
How about Maggie Moss Flynn’s “Romparound” A/O mare (circa 1980?). I remember presenting her with a few blue ribbons at MSG one year.
Luv2Jump
did Murmansk show inthe hunters, or just the eq?

I remember when Sunnyfield was first there. The Mc Intosh’s owned it. They did Dressage. But the indoor was HEATED and so they ran horse shows there during the winter. That was great times in the cold winter.
BAC Yes I a reasonably sure that Rome Dome was a Hunter as well. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
I went to shows there in the winter as well, before I went to work there. It was nice because the indoor was heated. They also had an outdoor A show there for years.

Oh BH2 we MUST know each other. Do you remember little Winter Music. He was Krissy’s sm jr until she sold him to some girl from NY and bought Watch What Happens from Dina. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Shade, we were stabled next to eachother and hung out all the time! I can remember your face but not your name.
Krissy is posting on the Nimrod Farm Yahoo group. They are planning a reunion that I may try to attend.
I had completely forgotten that Krissy bought Watch from Dina.
You are right, Robin’s horse was indeed Speech Maker.
Tindle gets my vote for superhunter
How about Geste? Hewasn’t that long ago.
The grey horse of Joey’s that fell at Lake Placid, might be the same one that he pulled up at The Garden. He had trouble getting up a line, pulled up, stared up at the crowd, opened his mouth wide, patted his chest (to show fear) and left the ring. What a Hoot (there’s another name from the past). The horse was dark grey, small and pretty. It might have been Star Shine, or maybe that was another one he had at the same time.
yep! chaplin
Thanks for mentioning Russian Caviar (about 4 pages back!) I did him in the small juniors and A/O’s and he was my horse of a lifetime. I doubt I’ll ever feel a jump like that again. Or the nashing of teeth at my back when we jogged – he could be a snarky little beast – but that was part of his charm.

Thank you, Jane! I have been trying to think of Playing Games name for a week. I just loved that horse! I rode part time for Bill and Frank in Fla. for a few winters, and I got to ride him all week before Clea came down to show. What a dream he was! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
He was a very cool horse, how was he to ride?
Talking about those horses and the Beacon Hill crew totally just reminded me of something…those big foam pads one used to put under their saddles for schooling, and those felt “cuffs” hind boots.
HMS Pinafore? (the Zimmerman grey)
I remeber doing a Pony Club rally there as well.
I think you left out the Breeding results but the rest was excellent!
