Ok so now what exactly happens now…
Where does it say which teams go on to the second round? Some did not make it I assume.
And what is the cutoff for who gets to go on to the individual rounds? Not everybody gets to go, correct?
Now yes, the point being made was that everyone expected Simpson’s score to be the drop score. No one expected Madden to get 11 faults.

Agreed. When he first came on course I thought he looked super fresh. I was thinking to myself that the good news is that our horses are probably very fit and ready for this competition… bad news is they’re all a little happy and fresh when they get in the ring. He appeared very hard to focus and didn’t jump the first couple jumps well at all.
I agree - Will’s horse was really fresh today too. Looked like he could have done another round right away.

Top 6 teams go. In this case, the top 7 since the sixth place are tied.
Are you serious?
2 rounds in 3 days so far? At any regular big show, Spruce Meadows, Aachen, Hickstead, they jump more than that. Nations Cup is normally two rounds in a day, and so are GP classes.
You know I was looking at the page that listed all the qualifiers and one class can count for two…oops:lol::lol::lol: I wasn’t looking at the dates…
Well, I think it’s time for me to go back to bed now! haha Love that live stream, but hate the time difference! It’s 8:20 here for me, and I’m most definitely not a morning person! Plus need sleep so I can do this all over again tomorrow!!
I thought it was top 8 teams that went on, but the screen on the live feed showed everyone ABOVE Germany with a “Q” (one assumes means “Qualified”) but I just went and looked at the official team score and Germany is sitting at 8th spot, so now I am confused.
ETA:
And reading above, now I’m not confused.
Now here’s the real question - who will be the third rider for the US? Will it be Laura or Will? I’d hate to be The George making this decision.
My bet is that there is no way you pass over Ludger (hushed tones) when making the decision for German’s only shot at SJ medals.
Also it is a clean slate going into individual finals on Thursday, right? It’s just making to to the top 20 for now.
Does anyone have the teams that are moving on and in what order? FOUND IT…
What is the bigger shocker? Beezie and Authentic’s rare loss of communication or that the GERMANS didn’t make the cut???
I can tell which one made me happier and resulted in less things flying across the room accompanied by &(%^&%&%&*!
Did you see Meredith’s reaction to Ludger’s 8? That said it all.
McLain really gave a riding lesson today. He could have won the medal finals with that round! And Cedric’s jump over the wall was priceless. That pony has springs in his feet.

Right, and only three from each country can go forward in the individual. If Germany is out of the team competition, their coach will have to decide whether Christian or Ludger gets to go through in the individual.
Can’t wait to see/read/hear quotes and comments from Beezie and George. McLain and Sapphire looked like superstars. I’ll cross my fingers for them in the individual medals. She may well be one of the best, if not the best, in the world. She can just big and scopey and she go fast in a jump off. If it comes down to a jump off for a medal vs. any of the other big guns, I’d put my money on McLain. I wouldn’t put him past jump the hedge dragons to cut a turn! Remember how he jumped the rocks in Athens? There are lots of little arrangements out there for him to get creative with. She is so rideable, I think she could beat Hickstead or Rufus in a jump off!
Let’s cross our fingers that Authentic gets his acts together and it was just a weird fluke … something on the rail … a photographer, a jump crew memeber that moved at the wrong time … so not like him. Has he ever had a stop or run out EVER? Beezie looked pissed. She’s not one to blame the horse …
Question: Looks to me that they show 50 horses qualified to go on to round 3. The only puzzler to me is Keir Gullickson of Norway. He’s just below the cutoff, but Norway is continuing. They have to let him go for the team, right? What if he pops a clear tomorrow? Would he then continue in the individual? My guess is no, but that would seem a little unfair.

Ok, so our guys get one more round for the team competition… then the top 3 of ours with the least faults will go on to individual. So it’s not dead for Beezie yet, per se.
And wow, Germany didn’t make it! Score! Won’t be sweeping ALL the medals guys!!!
Are you sure that only 3 can go forward? I thought I saw all 4 American listed as going forward for the Individual round because they were in the top 50. This was after it was all over and they were showing the standings of who qualified for the Individual competition moving on. I’m confused.
Bummer, but in true Beezie fashion, she handled it beautifully and got him through even when it looked like he tried the same thing again. Oh well, everyone has an off day occasionally. We’re still in the hunt and I’m sure they’ll have everything straightened out by the next round. Congratulations to our whole team!
is the live feed/playback not available on NBC’s Web site? Anyone else having trouble watching online?
I can’t even open the results page… seems to be having technical difficulties…
team results:

Individual qualifiers:

you need to give up on NBC’s results - they um, what’s the word? Suck. Go straight to the olympic site which had the team results updated real time.

Usually it’s available the next day or after it airs on TV.
