Thanks to both posters for sweet kitteh pix.

You know, Santa Hats are evil incarnate.

Next to bunny ears, and reindeer horns.

That’s the funny thing - she acts absolutely fine! Running, playing, attacking, eating 4xs what everyone else does … but her breath smells like infection.

A friend’s cat had gingivitis that had bad breath and Im sure there can be other reasons as well. I’m glad she is at least feeling normal! I hope Santa is very good to her this year!

Many, many years ago I had a cat in at the vet for something or other fairly routine - and I mentioned particularly stinky breath. The vet looked, and found a cut in the cat’s mouth (which was then treated). I believe that was when I had two males, one of which would attack the other, and it was one of those with the injury. But presumably something similar could happen by accident?

I do remember that other than the stinky breath I saw nothing to indicate there was a problem - and almost didn’t mention it to the vet.

I’m thinking it’s probably something like that. I looked and didn’t see anything, but who knows. I’ll call in a bit and get her an appointment.

It could be tummy issues brought on by the stress of the surgery? I thought it could be the anesthesia leaving her body but I would think that would be long gone by now.

I thought about that, too - it’s a lot better today, so I decided to see how it is tomorrow, especially since she hasn’t had any other problems.

Ham, on the other hand, just got very sick about an hour ago. He may have to go in tomorrow for sure.

Is this something in the house ? Anything new that’s gassing off ?
Maximus Ham ?

No, nothing new - he was absolutely fine one minute, then had diarrhea, then vomited. Now he’s hiding under my desk. Normally by this time of night he’s begging to go in his crate. Definitely worried.

They might be passing around a virus, God forbid - I can’t take ALL of them going through this! But he just vomited twice, and hasn’t since; Maximus couldn’t stop.

Oh holy hell! This has got to stop - you poor thing! Hope it was just something he ate and nothing more. Get well, Hammie!

I just gave him a dose of Mirtaz in the ear, and he went in his crate on his own. He still looks bad. Hopefully the Mirtaz kicks in soon.

Hugs and jingles to all of you. I hope everyone feels better tomorrow. A few years ago, a virus went through my herd (but it was more of an upper respiratory infection). It was rough to deal with that.

He’s feeling better today! Did not vomit after I gave him the Mirtaz. He did have diarrhea last night, but ate breakfast, laid in my lap and did his purring/air biscuits routine, and seems happy. We’ll see how he does.
