So where are u buying supplements if SP's svc. is sketchy sometimes??

Around here, you make your own bed.

I thought it would be obvious pared with the long thread about smartpak that the OP didn’t mean they were going out of business. Never mind there would be a thread on the company going out of business because how many people on this board use smartpak?

I swear some people purposefully read things the wrong way when there has been a lack of train wrecks.

Supplements are shipping as normal OP. It’s everything else.

Personally, I don’t use SP, so maybe that’s why I haven’t noticed any threads about SP, long or short. I did HAPPEN to notice the troublesome phrase found in this thread’s title and I thought ‘oh wow I didn’t know they were in trouble!’ So I clicked on it to read more. I read a little, saw the OPs snarky eye roll when questioned and I called her on it.

OP, would it have been ALL THAT HARD to just politely clarify what you meant, as it is apparent some of us misread your intent? Or is it really on ‘some of you people???’ How positively churlish of you.

I’ve no dog in this fight! I just wanted to say that I don’t regularly order from SP, so I didn’t read the other thread. However, I saw the title of this one and thought, “whoa! SP is closing?!” Further reading clarified that this wasn’t true, but just an FYI, for those of us who haven’t read the other thread, the title of this thread does jump out.

Add me to the list of people who assumed the OP’s title meant SP was going out of business and was surprised to open the thread and find out that SP is fine and the OP was just looking for other options because of order snafus and is at best extremely careless with language.

It’s the equivalent of posting a thread “So Who are You training with now that X has kicked the bucket” and acting offended that people didn’t know you meant (A) You need a new trainer bc Trainer X broke her leg from kicking a bucket and is not going to Florida this year and not (B) RIP Trainer X

I can’t help thinking OP did this on purpose to hurt SP.

Maybe it’s because I read the other thread and thought people were over reacting over shipping issues.

Silly as CotH can be at times, I don’t think folks would’ve been especially annoyed by one stupid joke if the OP hadn’t followed it up with all that defensiveness and snark.

But whatever.

I like SmartPak, and don’t recall any major problems with them. (I do think people tend to over-supplement in general, but that’s hardly SmartPak’s fault.) Their selection of stuff is quite good, and I think their prices are fair as well.

I purchase my supplements from SmartPak, Platinum Performance, and my local TSC or Farm Store. I haven’t had any issues with my horse’s SmartPak’s arriving late, though I did have some issues last month with shipping taking over two weeks, which they gave me credit for because I needed the items by a certain date and didn’t have them.

Skimming through the comments on the first two pages of this thread it certainly sounds as if SP is closing, so hopefully they step in and do some damage control before the rumor mill starts up and people actually believe it.

Uckele is my go-to. I’ve had excellent service from them. Their staff is good at answering questons and if they don’t personally know the answer they are quick to say so and offer to find out for me. Always have had a prompt return call with the answer.

Occasionally Valley Vet, especially Rx thing such as Thyro-L.

Smartpak a distant third. I buy in bulkand make up my own. Use the ziploc containers and it’s just like a Smartpak. Make them up evry 2 weeks or once a month depeinding on what I’m needing to add (such as allergy sups, seasonally). Recently tried to order some aloe pellets that I think were first introduced last winter. They are no longer available; supposedly bing reformulated w/ no target date to be brought back, …hmmm

I get my horse’s Cosequin ASU+ from Chewy.com, and his Remission from Tractor Supply.

Ultra Cruz has an aloe vera pellet.

California Trace and Santa Cruz Animal (vitamin E), flax I get from the feed store - cheaper than shipping it. In the past I have ordered from SP, Riding Warehouse, ValleyVet, Adams and Schneiders, whatever is cheaper. I have not had problems in the past.

Oooo, thank you! I will look into that. Was really not wanting to go back to liquid now that it is winter.

ETA: I had to contact SP about a bill correction today, so asked point blank about the status of things. I was told, no not going out of business.

Because this is obviously oh so difficult to understand for oh, so many, many, MANY OF YOU:

SMART PACK IS NOT GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

IT WAS A JOKE

MY REPLY TO SOMEONE ASKING ABOUT THEM GOING UNDER WAS SOMETHING CALLED SARCASM.
(GOOGLE IT.)

I THOUGHT ALL THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN OBVIOUS, RELYING UPON THE APPARENT NON-EXISTENT INTELLIGENCE ON THIS BOARD.

To those of you who can obviously read for comprehension, understand sarcasm, have more to do than troll posts and reply with contrary and argumentative comments/ take every opportunity to point out any mistakes and who’ve actually READ my request and responded accordingly:

THANK YOU. I very much appreciate learning about other vendors for bulk supplements. So often we get in a loop of using the same sellers and it’s nice to have a broader choice.

And now, I’ll step back and wait for the naysayers, critics, harpies and mean girls to come out and act like found a mouse caught in a trap.

Have a great time at church on Sunday.

Otherwise known as Smarpak. Nice job with your snark filled clarification on page 4.

Dude. You STILL don’t get that YOU started this with a stupid, petty snark. You know what you could have done instead of the sarcastic eye rolling comment?

“Nope, they’re not closing, I was just referring to the poor customer service people have been reporting in that other thread.”

That’s all it would take.

Be a decent human being, Sansena. If not because you actual are, do it to preserve your business. This reflects really poorly on you.

Holy lack of self awareness and control, Batman.

Sansena I used to consistently confuse you with Sannois; to me your screen names were similar and i couldn’t recall who was who. You’ve done a yeoman’s job of ensuring that can’t ever happen again. Well done, I guess.

Ummm…I"m an intelligent person and it was NOT obvious from your post that you were using sarcasm. It was so not-obvious from your post that I placed an order with them so I wouldn’t lose out on a gift certificate I had. I had really wanted to save it too for when I actually needed something. Please stop trying to defend yourself by blasting others as “not able to read for comprehension”. I read just fine for comprehension and it was NOT OBVIOUS. How many people have to tell you it was not obvious for you to admit you were wrong and move on - or just move on and stop insulting others.

The classic non-apology apology.

Smartpak’s supplement service, at least in the actual Smartpaks, has never been affected in my experience. Some of their other products are drop shipped from the manufacturer or come from another warehouse so there are shipping issues with non supplement products.

I agree the post gave the appearance that SP was under some difficulty. I don’t think it’s smart or in good taste to joke about stuff like that on the internet, since everything you read on the internet is true as everyone knows.
