Enjoy your next adventure Nic! Well done @BatCoach & @BrownDerby!
He’s coming along, quietly. I pushed him too fast in the beginning and gave him street cat PTSD. Slowly making progress, this morning at breakfast was best day yet. Using the string toy allows him to focus on the prey instead of scary stranger, so we’re playing more often. He has a throaty meow and says ‘hi’ and ‘thank you’ to all of you.
So glad to hear he is coming around.
I guess we (general) have to remember that Nic had a relationship with @BatCoach for quite some time, from being fed outside.
I am sure he will come around more each day!
The Churu treats that BatCoach donated are irresistible to him. I recommend them to anyone with a fussy or ambulatory cat.
Today is going to be sunny so I hope he can catch some goldfinch TV this afternoon.
If your (general) cat does not like this brand, try another brand.
I have two barn cats who will not eat that brand (who knows, they talked maybe?) but go crazy for the Squeeze Ups.
Glad to hear he’s settling in.
It sounds like things are going very well! He will be out and about in no time.
That was the story with my senior kitty Betty . She had no teeth and it did not slow her down at all. The only considerations she got was high quality wet food and she was kept inside. But otherwise she was a spit fire and kept my younger kitties in line .
My toothless Dempsey was an In/Out cat.
He never had a problem crunching kibbles.
& He taught my other In/Out youngster how to push out a window screen when we dared to suggest they stay in at night
I have been silently following this thread. I hope Nic has settled in some and all are doing well!
Thanks for thinking of us! Nic is living the good life. Drooling has almost ceased, and he is eating kibble now. As well as everything else. Man, this boy can eat. His vibe is so chill that old lady cat thinks he’s sweet and crazy tortie ignores his presence.
He is still confined to the guest room and likes to sit on the windowsill and look out. Not much interest in watching the bird feeder. Still very shy but when I shake a tube of creamy treat he comes to me and eats out of my hand. I’m really glad he’s here.
Oh YAY! Thank you for that update. I’m glad to hear you guys are doing so well!
yay! I am so glad that the drooling is getting better and he is starting to settle in.
He’s eating like a hog.Perhaps making up for lost time when his mouth hurt. Thank you all for contributing to his surgery.
Good job Nic! Good job! I find my last two dumpees ( found them 2 years ago) still eat like horses. I guess they remember what it is like to have an empty belly and they aren’t letting that happen again. They are not fat either because they are hyperactive hooligans that run it all off. Nic is making up for lost time.
Our worst glutton is a cat who spent a winter scrounging for food. For example, yesterday I walked toward the kitchen and saw him hunched over something in the doorway. Picked it up to find it was a slice of ham, with some mayonnaise and a spinach leaf sticking to it. I continued into the kitchen to find my dad at the table setting things up and an apparently intact sandwich on the counter behind him. Except that close examination showed that the mayonnaise-lubricated ham had been neatly yanked out from between the two slices of bread in the short time that my father had his back turned.
