Nic has really started to embrace toys! He’s a cat nip fiend and is no longer scared of string toys. His full report card from the Batcoach Home for Wayward Felines will be released soon.

He’s such a handsome boy!! :two_hearts:

His coat has improved so much already. He looks like a nice boy. What does Peep think of him or have they met yet?

Nic and Peep would have to meet via Zoom or Facetime since the beautiful Peepy Cat is owned by @BraveSC and (I believe) on the other side of the country. But if they did meet in real life, Nic would be a total gentleman. He likes hanging out with other cats and has tries to get along with everyone.

The other day I was taking hanging out with Nic in his temporary room and his former BFF Mouse was desperately trying to check-in on this buddy. Truly a peeping (neutered) tom.

Awww, he’s a cutie. I’m glad those guys have you.

Did Nic react to him?

they meow through the screen at each other and Mouse takes naps outside the window. If its a nice day out I leave the window open a bit - I decided that some interaction through the window screen is better than feeling totally isolated. The household agreement is that If I’m at the office, I have to keep Nic in his room, so I look at it as a form of emotional support.

Its worth noting that this window is right by the stoop where the kitties frequently hang out anyway, so Mouse and Nic would sleep out side the window regularly before. Mouse does have other pals, but none as close a Nic.

The dillute tortie kitty in the middle of this outdoor crew is Daisy - one of the mama kitties who inspired me on my TnR mission with the summer of 8 foster kittens. She’s red mare spicy and loves her freedom, but knows I :heartpulse: her and always have food and treats for her. My dream is to have turn indoor kitty one day.

The big ginger boy is Terrance. Terrance thinks that I am running an outdoor cat - to indoor cat program and has volunteered to be the next in line. He is ridiculously friendly. So much so that I believe he hopped in someone’s car or truck bed and was transported 14 miles away. The TnR place microchipped him to the rescue that I worked with and I got a call that he was at a vet a few towns over. Fortunately he was healthy - someone found him by a car dealership and picked him up and took him to a vet who scanned him. The vet called the rescue and the rescue called me since he was from ‘my’ colony. So if anyone wants a super friendly neutered ginger boy with hind socks and blue eyes - Terrance would love to be your guy!

Oh my gosh, Daisy is as cute and obviously as spicy, as she was when she had the kittens!

They’re all gorgeous kitties :heart_eyes_cat:

Sorry…got kitty owners mixed up. Glad he is adjusting so well.

Now that it the kind of peeping Tom that PeepyCat would like! Can he travel to Aiken or is that a bit far?!

Thanks so much for the updates on Nic. It’s wonderful to see how happy he is. I don’t suppose there’s any chance Mouse could go along with him when he moves to his permanent home?

Batcoach Home for Wayward Felines (BHWF)
Graduate Report for: Nicodemus

Appetite: B+
Nic LOVES his Tiki Cat Mousse and Inaba Churu treat tubes. His palate has become more sophisticated since living indoors and he is no longer a fan of Friskies Pate. Due to gum tenderness, he has only shown a small passing interest in kibble and crunchy (greenies) cat treats.

Manners: A
Nic only uses appropriate scratching posts (he prefers horizonal cardboard scratchers) and never claws carpets or drapes. He responds well to verbal and body language cues. He is very easy to groom, bathe and claw-trim as he loves the attention and never has tried to do anything rude like scratch or bite. However, His litter box habits could improve by using better burying methods.

Cleanliness: D
Nic needs to work on self-grooming. Perhaps due to past/current oral pain, he stopped grooming himself correctly. He still has drooling issues, so his chest and front paws tend to be soggy and need to be cleaned with a feline grooming wipe. The staff at BHWF hope that as his medical status improves, Nic’s self-grooming will also improve and he will no longer need weekly baths.

Socialness: A-
Nic likes other cats and respect’s everyone’s space while trying to be social. He never takes a hiss personally, and endeavors to fit in with the crowd. He is not a bossy alpha-type, rather, he is a easy-going fellow who wants to go with the flow.

Around humans, Nic can still be wary of men, or if any human stands above him carry anything. He does bond quickly to friendly humans, so he will have a very bright future with his new owner. He is very verbally communicative and lets you know where is or if he is hungry.

Intelligence: A
Nic is always taking in his surroundings and calmly processing. He has a great sense of self-preservation but is not skittish or flighty. He quickly acclimated to common household noises and the ruckus of humans. He definitely looks before he leaps and gets used to routine quickly.

Athletics/Play: B
Nic is starting to show interest in stick n string toys, but only on the ground. He is not a gifted jumper and prefers to ‘hunt’ on the ground and not the air. He LOVES catnip and silvervine sticks. He will trot from place to place if the urge strikes, but his preferred speed is walk or snuggle. The staff of BHWF is confident that Nic’s playing score will improve as he embraces indoor life and starts to see toys as toys, and not prey.

AREAS OF EXCELLENCE:

*Animal heat pad. This has been plugged in 24/7 (it cycles on/off for safety) in the Costco box. He adores it.

*Inaba Churu - he LOVES the chicken tubes

*making biscuits and purring!

Due to his excellent attitude, loving spirit and kind, forgiving heart - BHWF staff have award Nicodemus the inaugural Heart Medal!

We could not have done any of this without you!

Special shout out to angel donor @Carson_Beach and many, many others who I can’t list since paypay requires real names and not CoTH handles but THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who chipped in.

Nic is heading to his new home with @BrownDerby tomorrow due to the kindness of strangers who wanted to give this street kitty a second chance. His chapter at the BHWF is ending, but he has a very bright future full of love and biscuits thanks to you CoTH readers!

BatCoach’s photo skills and narratives will be a hard act to follow, that’s for sure.

Honestly, I feel BatCoach (Cat Life Coach) could write a children’s book about Nic and Mouse and the gang.

Just think, without BC’s intervention, Daisy would have had 3 litters by now.

This is the best storybook ending ever! Talk about a great return on investment!

Thanks to @BatCoach and family for giving this guy a chance at life, and to @BrownDerby for being willing to be his new best friend!

Can’t wait to see a photo of him in his new digs!
