Bagavond (Abaginone (1/2 brother to Cara Rafaela, Bernardini’s dam) out of a Groovy dam)- just retired this past summer - turned over to me, and I placed him in the care of my good friend at Springerle Stables near Syracuse. Will be starting h/j training this spring. I spotted him from afar in 2006 at Saratoga, somehow became mesmerized, and bought into his partnership while he was racing. He was a joy to watch run.
Alot O Indian - my first horse, barn name “Schroeder” - finally got one in my 20’s, after waiting since I was 7. Not listed on pedigreequery but he had Irish Brush and Fleet Burn(Count Fleet) behind him. Born in the 70’s, raced at Ak-Sar-Ben, then shipped east where my trainer and I picked him up down in Millbrook. Became a good show horse, I couldn’t afford the level he could show at so sold him to someone at Roger Patterson’s, where I believe his barn name was “Jamie” - I heard he was sold to someone in NJ, but never found out where he ultimately ended up. Would love to find out some day. Very good equitation horse, not a classic hunter, but honest as the day is long, never stopped for anything, and the most comfortable canter in the world.
Cuygus - purchased as a h/j project just before I got married - leased him out as a dressage prospect, and eventually sold him to the gal that had him. Another sweet guy.
I know lots more from show barns, and at the track, but these are those I’ve known well personally. Looking to rearrange my life to have another TB to myself again soon. Sigh…
