TB's I Have Known - [FB PAGE STARTED w/ Database!!! - update on 1st post]

looking for info!

I bought Hard Rock Crossing (1993) a few years ago…would love any information anyone has about his life at the track and after! I know he raced up and down the east coast, including some races in Canada. He is currently an event pony and loves it! I got him from a small backyard barn in NH and know that he had evented a little previously.

Lot of Chicago names in your lists! I am 99% sure I heard Maggi Moss took Lord of The Game to retire him after he re-bowed (for the 3rd time). Tomillo (passed away last year himself) would have happily run the old horse death if he could have.

Good to know LOTG got a welllll deserved retirement.

I didn’t know the other three guys ended up in IL. We had them up at Saratoga and were running them on the NY circuit. I’d love to know what happened to Unbridled Danger. He was a big, tough hornball, but a lover at heart.

 Im looking at him as we speak!!

This may make it easier - here is the old page: http://web.archive.org/web/20080818094204/http://www.pretzelkitty.com/cothlist.html

I rode hunters as a kid, and couldn’t begin to tell you what their JC names were, but these are the few I’ve owned/own:

Bartender Michael
Mr. Wenzel
Jade’s Knight
Tampa Tornado

I owned Maximum Degree and will soon own No Halo On Me.

I also know Nigeria!

There’s a few retired racehorses at my H/J barn…not sure of most of their JC names.

But my latest purchase, turning out to be a fine jumper:
Houston’s Tiara (Houston - Numberfifteen)

Another at our barn is Winter Warlock… an old man now, must’ve been born in the early 80s or so.

My trainer was explaining to me how OTTB’s used to be ubiquitous on the H/J circuit but are almost nonexistent these days – everyone wants a warmblood.

I own Nicky’s World (2000) by World Stage.

My BO has Swift Image.

Anything on either one? Both are Florida bred.

No kidding! How is the handsome man?

As Timex knows now, Farno left the track December 2010 and came home with me February 2011. He is quite a special boy, and is showing his skills in dressage now. Farno has a home for life with me, in fields of lush grass and clover until his last breath.

Just want to say a huge Thanks to the original OP on this thread.

I’ve yet again been contacted by one of Greatsilverfleets riders that at the young age of 21, he is coming along nicely with his dressage training in Canada! Pics were also included and they made my heart smile for Silver.

I had pretty much lost all hope in finding anything about this horse (I galloped him for 4 yrs at the track), untill I stumbled upon this thread and posted about him. Awesome!

That’s fantastic. Please keep us updated on him. I remember him so well from the 90’s…I had a horse that ran against him. He was (and I’m sure, still is) a beauty.

What horse did you have TB? And Silver does look great and his new human friend truly loves and spoils him, he so deserves this life!

I’m pretty sure my boy Sand Lizard ran against him. Sandy’s also a big, pretty gray. Unfortunately when I rescued him (he was running for $2,000 at Les Bois Park after being a stakes winner at Saratoga) he was too far gone to be anything other than a pasture puff. He’s at the United Pegasus Foundation running the herd…quite the sight. It’s kind of heartbreaking because he is about the most beautifully balanced horse (at 17 hands) around…would have been an outstanding sport horse.
I know there are a couple of others I’ve rescued that ran against Silver. I’ll look through his charts.

There are a few horses I’d love to track down from 2007 that I was galloping for McPeek in KY. Lost track of them when they were shipped up to Saratoga and I went to work breaking babies down south.

Lake Lucy … ch '05 Mazel Trick - Another Vegetarian - LOVED this little filly. She was tiny, slow, and definitely not a racehorse, but she had more brains and sweetness than many I’ve met. McPeek’s barn wouldn’t tell me anything of her… and the only thing listed on Equibase is her running 9th in a MSW at Kentucky Downs.

Perfect Pleasure … dk b '05 Aptitude - Alarming Prospect -another slow '05 filly, apparently unraced? She did ship to Saratoga in 07, so may have at least been training there for awhile.

Arizona … b '05 Carson City - Splash 'Em Baby - Stocky little gelding with a real attitude. Last raced in '08 in an allowance at Churchill.

Doubleman… g/ro '05 Holy Bull - Cherie - Apparently unraced… if you’ve ridden/worked with this little firecracker, you’d know it. He was one of the grays trying to kill whatever rider wasn’t paying enough attention to him.

I know this is a real longshot (particularly since the most recent any of them has raced is 2008)… but if anyone has come across any of these babes… I’d love to know it. I’ve actually had a deal with my husband that if any of them show up decently priced, they’re ours.

Moonriver -

I had Ima Lamarche in my pasture for several years - trail horse / lesson horse / pet. Sold him last summer to a gal who had ridden him several times - he is totally enjoying the easy life as a trail horse, and fat and sassy, and just about anybody can ride him. She guides trails occassionally on him, but mostly just rides him herself out on the trails down here in S. AL & NW FL.
