It is only a 2 hour haul? Is there nobody at the new barn who would come get him or someone from your old barn who would take him over??

I just asked a friend with a trailer if she wanted to make a few extra bucks. It’s about a 5hr round trip for anyone doing it for me. Only person at current barn with trailer is trainer. The problem isn’t the shipper that new barn put me in touch with—it’s the weather. Hoping maybe friend will be able to help.

So a friend of mine with a truck can get him Thursday if original shipper can’t get him before that. Still waiting on original shipper to get back to me about Monday/Tuesday. Given how bad they’re saying this storm is going to be I’m guessing Monday is out.

Yeah, I don’t know about this storm. Some people are very doom and gloom about it but others are suggesting some wind and a few inches of rain. Reading the National Weather Service warnings you’d think we are facing The End of Days.
I would GUESS you could move Sunday AM. Storm is not supposed to make landfall on Long Island until 2 PM.
You could also try posting on your local Facebook group. I know that risks the trainer seeing it but at this point who cares? A lot of shows for tomorrow are canceled. Someone might be willing to do it today since they aren’t prepping/trailering tomorrow.

Still haven’t heard back from shipper with answer about tomorrow. My guess is they are waiting to see how this storm plays out.
Trainer wants nothing to do with me. She initially claimed she hoped we’d leave things as friends but it’s clear she has no intention of talking to me (never mind saying a proper goodbye) before I leave. She’s avoiding me at all costs and if he leaves tomorrow I won’t see her before we go. I know she’s been a terrible friend but for a long time I thought she was a very good friend (we spent a lot of time outside horses together). So it just gives me a sick feeling.

Has the Weather Channel sent Mike Cantore? Someone from Florida said on another thread that his presence is a strong indication that sh-t’s about to get real. He only comes out for the biggest & best.

Well, apparently this storm was a bust for many. We got rain, but I don’t even think it was particularly heavy. I lunged the beast, but I actually probably could have safely ridden because it wasn’t especially windy either.
Shipper is thinking tomorrow is likely a go.

Good riddance to the former “friend” who treated you so poorly for daring to move out of the area; what did she really expect you to do - board your horse with her forever and pay her to ride since you would be too far away?

I just got a text saying she wishes me well and thanked me for being a very good client and friend and telling me to stay in touch. After she couldn’t even face me to say goodbye and give me a hug. After years of friendship.
