Regarding the oncologist…can you enlist your PCP, the gastroenterologist or surgeon to go in the backdoor and get some action?

I am horrible person I know, but given the circumstances that made me giggle just a little!!!

I may need some help from you Kim, we have just bought a little house in a local town, moving off the farm, and they are big into ‘Communities in Bloom’ I guess that I can’t be the person who wrecks the place by not having some sort of garden. Here I just tend to turn the horse out on the lawn every now and again, or zoom around with the ride on…

The new place might be a bit small for the ride on, so I’m threatening to use it to go down to the store on, when recovering from the knee replacement…

Yes Kim, as a little humor- I too thought of you while cleaning stalls. It’s a dirty job, but a lot of us, I’m sure, do our serious thinking there.

God I miss doing that! That was one of my favorite jobs.

Kim, I am glad Saturday was a good day. I like digging in the dirt too. I have to mow today too. I decided I enjoyed that and fired my lawn service last year after they mashed all my downspouts and kept forgetting to blow the sidewalks. I can do a lot better job than that;).

Regarding the oncologist…can you enlist your PCP, the gastroenterologist or surgeon to go in the backdoor and get some action? They tend to respond quicker when one of their own contacts them.

Hi friends, Well not a terrific day, but I guess it could be worse.
After I got the little bit of yard work done this morning and then it rained, I did not do much.
Late this afternoon my usually quiet across the street neighbor, decided to play her country music outside and loud.
It really pissed me off. Luckily my house is quite well insulated and unless it is a live band I cannot hear it over the TV.
But never the less, it still made me mad. After 8 it quieted down, and I thought, gee I will have a glass of wine. Now I hardly ever drink, so the one glass had really made me tipsy. Hopefully it will put me to sleep.
Decided that instead of having a garage sale, which is a huge pain, I will just donate most of my stuff.

There are companies that handle auctions of house stuff for estates or those that have to move fast.
You could find who where you are and let them sell your stuff.
May as well make some money from the sales.

Great that you and XDH are going to be a bit closer for each other.
Helps to have someone there with you, no matter how things go.
He seems like a good fellow, worth the change to be with him.

IT is just stuff. Also putting the house on the market soon, as I have decided to move back with Ex.

Just an idea…instead of going through the pains of preparing for a garage sale you could have a house content sale. A friend of mine did this, instead of handling and moving everything she just went around and put price stickers on everything she wanted to sell where they sat in her house and advertised “House Contents Sale” and let people go through the house. It’s a little invasive but you can close off the rooms you don’t want people entering and put down cheap plastic runners on the areas that will be walked on the most.

I’m having a yard sale this summer with my neighbour but when my relocation time comes closer I am strongly considering this indoor house content sale, especially for the larger items I will be selling.

I also just want to say that all of you people who enjoy yard work are stark raving NUTS, I tell ya! :lol::lol: Lunatics, the lot of you! If the city code enforcement would permit it, I would pave all the way from the street to my door…as it it, I have a lot of river rock, pine bark, and pine straw; even keeping that weeded (via liberal applications of Roundup 365) is more attention than I like to give my yard. I do admire a pretty garden, though!

IMHO the main advantage to a garage sale is that people haul the stuff away for you. There are also companies who will arrange an indoor “estate” sale for you.

good morning! I think moving in with Ex is a terrific idea! Yes, there are auction houses that will pickup/auction/whatever you want. They’ll take a cut but still, one less headache for you.

If your neighbor wants a battle of the bands, I’ve got some old polka cds i’d send you!!! :eek: Guaranteed show stoppers! Engelbert Humperdink on a continuous loop–no one beats me at loud irritating music!!!

I think things will come together and youll get a plan–that will help.

I’m totally with you on the garage sale. I just cleaned out a huge storage locker and yes, I could have sold most of it (horse tack, dinnerware, glassware, some antiques) but I decided it was just not worth the agro. I simply did not want to deal with it. Donated and done.

Beautiful quiet day here in CA - hope it stops raining where you are and you can get outside again! Nothing worse than being trapped indoors. And wine…wine sounds good.

Glad that yard-work brings you peace and solace.

Hope that the weather also cooperates this week so you can continue to enjoy the outdoors. I like the idea of donations. PC or therapy for your horse stuff. If you have any nice “dressy” clothes, maybe donate to a group that helps women search and find jobs? Or donate to a DV shelter. Lots of options depending on what your interests are.

They may be only “things” but someone else may see them as much more than that. Any horse knickknacks or photos? Maybe a disadvantages young lady would like them…
