The "Bring Chrome Home" crowd is batty, but...

I doubt that…and of course don’t waste much time on that type of scrutiny. Just enjoying the entertainment.[/QUOTE]

The most amusing comment was regarding CC’s 2014 Breeders Cup race (they are reminiscing)…

“I still believe he would have won it if the track was just a tad longer”.

Priceless.

Shows their racing knowledge for what it is (not), wire would still have been the same distance from the starting gate no matter how much longer the track was.

Should be interesting to see what the Chromies have to say about C.C. running with T.M.'s silks and not DAP’s.

I think their outcry will be loudest when ‘the colorful’ Steve Coburn and entourage will not be appearing in the paddock prior to Chrome’s first race back [scheduled for early January at Santa Anita].

Reading the latest news from Art Sherman on Chrome’s encouraging first breeze and fitness progress, Ms BCH should realize that her negative-biased Los Alamitos ‘informant’ can not be relied on, and that it’s time to realize that her flawed rag is dishonest in reporting ‘the lies’ she so claims she hates.

Marie (BCH) must be asleep at the wheel today. She’s got a few ‘live ones’ on the site and taking a poke at Coburn’s relative (who keeps yakking the mantra that Chrome has no competitive fire anymore). Really? Then your former-owners in the family must be tickled pink that they sold their share and got out while Chrome had then more perceived value than his future races and stallion fees. Methinks that the DELETE button will be pressed soon (still can’t believe that Denise and Jeff have blocked around 100 offensive visitors).

I don’t know if I’m considered “live” or not, but I’m surprised I haven’t been kicked off yet along with the rest daring to contradict the Black one. Methinks BCH’s painkillers are slowing her down.

BCH is strangely silent about several of Martin Racing’s comments. Lol, can’t wait to read the response to the last zinger that was posted to the California Chrome FB page by someone who sports a different view.

“Bone bruising is a catch all term and misnomer. What Dr. Bramlage described has more to do with equine maturation cycles and rate of growth at the distal physeal of the cannon bone and density. Actually the English training might have been the best thing for California Chrome since there is a very good chance that the extra time outdoors lessened the impact of the condition and improved his strength and quite possibly improved the quality of his life. Unfortunately he wasn’t ready mentally for the trip back to the US and was stressed. Fortunately I’m thinking that lessons learned from this particular trip will help vets to better prepare American performance horses for their overseas travel.”

One of our fellow COTHers must have posted a very interesting post because it seems to have raised quite a bit of comment plus gotten her banned and deleted all at once. Hope she will come on here and let us know what was said–probably merely what all of us have been thinking all along!

I don’t know if it is someone from here, but I believe it was a person who only posted one sentence which asked/confirmed that the vitriol-spewing J J Melton is a relative of the Coburns. The folks on the site are very thin-skinned. I’m of the conclusion that the entire website is merely being used as a mouthpiece for the Coburns (otherwise they would be advising their relatives to refrain from posting such bitter rants which only casts a bad light on themselves). Ms BCH is clueless and has no personal knowledge of Chrome and his connections. The admin would not be trolling for info from the very people who come to her site for her ‘latest news’ – which she fails to provide since she is as ignorant as they are. Her premise seems to be to promote the perceived ‘terrible treatment’ of the hapless Coburns and gain sympathy for them. They don’t seem to ever come to her site for input or to dispel the mistruths or (at the least) provide information. Does she run the site for free or payment?

Is she even ‘a fan?’ Anything but, it seems. I don’t believe a fan would be so enamored of reporting ‘negative news’ (especially unworthy, unsubstantiated claims) such as she posts.

What a disappointment. I was hoping for something meatier, but JJ seems to be very touchy about that subject.

I saw that Victor is going to start having a Chrome page with pictures on his website. Wonder how that will go over with the BCH crowd since they seem to be so anti-racing at the moment, and Victor–is a jockey, and will be answering to the Shermans, the Martins, and Taylor Made. Should be interesting at any rate.

I think it is commendable that Martin and company have never once stooped to say anything derogatory about any of the anti comments. From what I am still gathering, he is 10 times the horseperson than the Coburns ever hoped to be.

The Martin’s do seem to being keeping it classy compared to the Coburn camp. Amazing how some of the BCH crew seem to think that Steve raised CC. Yeah, sure from Nevada while CC was in California.

But but they ARE his FAAMILY…don’t you no nothin…

If I cherished my champion thoroughbred I might not say much either. If and when Martin sells , I’d venture he’ll fight hard to keep a part of his horse.

It’s funny how the admin tries to act like she is not connected with the former owners of Chrome. Her latest ‘don’t-you-just-love-them?’ praise is cloying sweet. If she’s not on the payroll, she should be. I still haven’t heard the excuse why they sold their share of Chrome. You would think the BCHers would look on it as an act of betrayal, but instead all they proclaim is that ‘they did it for Chrome.’

It has been said that they did it “to save Chrome’s life” and that they were then "betrayed " as supposedly Taylor Made and Martin had sworn that CC was going to stud and “tricked” them. So with all the whining about how racing and the evil Perry Martin are only about the $$$$$ - no one has pointed out that the Coburns likely received a very nice sum for their share and that $$$$ triumphed over their “love” for Junior.

I find it very sad that Carolyn Coburn and some relatives think it is appropriate to egg these people on - especially BCH herself and a couple of very overwrought, strident posters. The type of posters who swoon at the very mention of Steve Coburn as he raised CC from the time he was a newborn and is his only “dad”. That has been said a few times…

Apologies for all the “quotes”…

After Chrome’s Sat breeze at Los Alamitos, BCH member Stevie Barnyard snears, ‘How on earth does a world-class TB benefit from working out on that tiny track?’ Oh, maybe by winning the KD, the Preakness, the Santa Anita Derby, the Hollywood Derby, you get the message…

Oh my, people have spied Karri F (vowed protest/demonstration organizer) along the rail this AM as Chrome trotted by. Is she getting any more hair-brained ideas???

BCH-er Stevie Barnyard snears, ‘How on earth does a world-class TB benefit from working out on that tiny track?’ Yes, just however did Chrome manage to win the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, the Santa Anita Derby, the Hollywood Derby, etc, by being hampered by that ‘tiny track?’ You get the message …

It seems that Karri F (protest/demonstration organizer) was spied along the rail this AM during Chrome’s session. Is she dreaming up any more hare-brained ideas in her head???

So NOW the outrage is about CC’s dam being sent to Taylor Made for breeding - and how the poor Coburns (who IMO are manipulating these airheads) did not know and were wronged etc. etc. Majority owners can do that, folks. Get a grip on reality.

And instead of sending CC Christmas cards (WTF?) or cookies, how about making a small donation to any one of a number of OTTB placement groups in his name? Be useful instead of useless and put your money where your mouths are…

I saw the bit about CC’s dam being sent to Kentucky. Poor thing, now when the weather’s good she’ll have to eat GRASS instead of standing around in a dirt pen. Perhaps the fact that there is a far better selection of stallions to choose from in Kentucky never entered anybody’s heads (and perhaps the Coburns DID know about it and kept their silence about it). Well, it will give them something to moan about over the holidays.

I particularly enjoyed the several posters who were convinced CC’s dam would be able to sense / feel the presence that her son had been there.

Now Love the Chase is Madam Cleo …
