They a speculating whether she will be bred to AP-. As if.
Apparently someone even called Taylor Made to see what was going on- great just what they need there- more crazy.
I suppose I am fascinated by the weirdness of the people on the BCH page because I am not a facebook user? Is this sort of bizarre back-and-forth common?
Is it usual for people on facebook, who are genuinely clueless about horses, to post with such vehemence about that which they know nothing?
I find it amazing that one contributor is worried that the connections have sent C.C.'s dam to Taylor Made (or “Taylor Maid” as some on the site seem to misspell it) to resume her racing career.
From BCH page;
“Is there a way he ( C.C.'s owner and majority owner of C.C.'s dam, Martin) can make 50 cents by forcing Love The Chase to race again?”
Who in their right mind would be worried that an owner would return a 9yr old broodmare with one win and career earnings of $7,020. to the track?
One lady believes that Taylor Made should call the minority owners about the situation and, barring that, is going to call Taylor Made to let them know that the 30% minority owners weren’t in on the decision to send the mare.
I was interested to see which stallion the owner (yes, the majority owner, the one who calls the shots) had chosen for the mare, as it seems she’s only been to Lucky Pulpit in the past, so I looked at the Martin Racing facebook page (which I can see, as it is public as well).
There was no information on that subject, but oh my the hysterical people on the BCH page actually do visit the real C.C. facebook page however they seem to try to tone down the crazy, except for referring to the horse as “our champion” which would creep me out if I was in Martin and Taylor Made’s shoes.
How odd…horse stalkers.
Was it Stevie Barnyard who was on the Martins’ site and expressed something like it was her first visit to the page, that she enjoyed it, and she would now be more cautious about ‘other’ Chrome pages? I think the whole FB page exists to be a mouthpiece for the Coburns. If not, these folks are scary in their delusions.
They are really going to loose their minds if/ when Martin decides to get LtC in foal to a commercially popular stallion and sell her before the Chrome tide goes out.
I am not trying to be snarky, but I honestly do not get the hoopla that still surrounds this horse. He is a very good horse, but not even the best of his crop. It’s really weird to me.
Aaaaaaaaand heeeeeeeeere we go folks …
California Chrome gets his second invite to Dubai and oooooh the huge manatee from the crazies who think he’s going to be run to death.

Hooowhheeeee… yep, they’re gonna go nuts as soon as this info goes on the BCH page.

I dunno, I’m still waiting for people to stop caring about Smarty Jones (never have I been more relieved when a Derby/Preakness winner was run down at the Belmont.)
One of the kookiest and vocal of the BCH clan has made a pilgrimage to witness Chrome in his latest Los Alamitos work last weekend and met/spoke with Art Sherman while there, and shock found out he was not such an abusive ogre that they imagined he was! Will wonders never cease???
This individual seems to be a huge supporter and FB Friend of the former Chrome-rider, Willie del Gado, and she was a critic of Art for not allowing him into the barn area at Los Al when he was let go after Dubai. It led to the ‘Art is an a*****le’ response from Willie on BCH. I wonder now that she has interacted personally with Art Sherman if she still has the same sympathetic feelings for the object of her affections?
The suggestion to send a donation instead of cookies is most appropriate since the FB pages of the Chrome sites have displayed very recently that they have joined together to support horse charities.

And of course BCH has completely ignored Martin Racing’s support of One Last Race/After The Finish Line and Old Friends. She’s stuck - to acknowledge the Martins’ support of those causes would be a tacit admission that Chrome’s majority owners aren’t 100% ogres.
I don’t get the hoopla over CC either. He is a good racehorse, but not exceptional among Grade 1/Group 1 winners.
He’s flashy and he has a good story (cheap-claimer mare put to so-so stallion produces Kentucky Derby winner.)
Why he attracts the total cuckoo birds? I have NO IDEA. But then I have no idea why these sort of people exist (Like…seriously, Barbaro, nice horse, now he’s dead, moving on.)

It’s truly amazing that they don’t understand that the horse has more cookies than he can eat and should instead donate to a worthy cause. It just shows it’s ‘about themselves’ being able to say they sent the champ a gift – apparently they feel there is not much personal glory/recognition with a monetary donation, which would be much more appreciated than the un-needed cookies. Hint, hint, they don’t want any more cookies, thank you very much, how else can they express it???
Perhaps a not-yet-banned-from-site (if there is such a thing?) person could chime in and suggest it to the group. Of course, then they would also be immediately banned…

I wonder if other sports/athletes have crazy fans similar to the horse racing fans. Or maybe the big-time show dogs that you see at Westminster and other shows that you can watch on TV. I can’t believe the nerve of these crazies that they think they should get any input into the care and management of the horse.
And being outraged about Chrome going back to Dubai, I thought that was old news (announced at least a couple of months ago when they talked about his tentative plans for next year).

Who knows if these people are real. Or if the page owner is from Salt Lake … Or whether simply a Coburn relative looking to get their piece of this very small pie. As entertaining as this BCH page is it plays out like a scam that’s part of a bigger con. Stuff like this doesn’t end well.
Sure wish the horse community cared enough about it’s small owners to rally around and support rather than take part in damaging their own industry.
Someone did put up a pic of CC with the caption “Please consider donating to my friends in need instead of sending me cards or cookies…”
Another person commented that any gifts to Chrome would actually be gifts to Perry Martin.
Let’s see if those posts stay up. I’m betting not.

Lol! Perry Martin, Taylor Made, most directly the Shermans and Chrome.

The Coburns must be truly naïve if the website is their way of getting their personal point across. You would think that they would actually request from BCH that their family members’ comments not be posted – they continue to partially own horses with the Martins and will participate in the sport. Why would you want toxic, acidic statements to continue? It only reflects on themselves by allowing the posts on a website that is looked on with scathing disdain. (I still would believe that Ms BCH gets compensated for her involvement – would be amazed if she does not.)
There has not been a single post on BCH indicating that anyone there has given a donation to a Chrome-supported charity, only bragging about the purchase/shipping of the cookies.

A recent comment:
“Please show your continued support for our champ. Let him know he is still loved. I sent mine today. A small gesture for a grand stallion that we all love and who has brought good times to our lives. He needs our thoughts and prayers to get through this season safely.”
Who knew that the holiday season is such a perilous one for Chrome? The only “danger” I can imagine would be laminitis from gorging on horse cookies. Fortunately Sherman’s barn staff are smarter than the BCH’ers and won’t let that happen.

Actually, I don’t see that post any longer (unless I’m missing something). You can see how the folks who sent ‘cookies’ keep reminding everyone over and over that they did so. It’s not about the ‘gift’, it’s about ‘themselves.’ A donation to a horse charity would be so much more welcome, but they completely miss the point, and now apparently even the ‘offending suggestion’ of a charitable contribution has been removed from the website. It’s a shame because even the price of just a few bags of the cookies would go far in aiding a charity.
Star-struck Theresa is planning to return to the track to see Chrome work again at the weekend hoping to wheedle a visit to Chrome’s barn afterwards merely because ‘Art spoke to her.’ I notice that she did not explain to the trainer that she is an avid fan of BCH and Willie del Gado and how ‘unfair’ she feels the former rider’s treatment is (fired and unwelcome). Just curious what she plans to say to the Martins if she runs into them???
You can’t help but chuckle when she acts as if she is attempting to ‘secretly scheme’ the ‘super sweet’ Art Sherman into allowing her to come to visit Chrome at the barn – even the presently-absent Denise M informed those on BCH that she herself interacts with Chrome’s connections behind the scenes – so the connections are quite aware of the contents of BCH on any given day (and likely Theresa’s ‘plans.’). Isn’t it sick and hypocritical how BCH fans don’t mind stooping to schmooz up to the trainers or owners for their own selfish means while badmouthing them behind their backs all along the way?
