Waiting for BCH to hit the roof because Hope’s Love is not racing in DAP silks.
Well that was a nice win
So many bozos walking into the winners circle who don’t belong.

No need for them to hit the roof… Hope’s Love raced in the DAP silks today (not well, but …) California Chrome - who did win this afternoon - is the only one racing in the new Martin/Taylor Made partnership silks.

That’s what was kinda funny because the program had printed she was running in other colors.
“Green, Green ‘plm’ On Gold Diamonds On Back, Gold.”
But she did run in DAP colors so no clue what’s with that.

Personal experience with SA and GGF both being a little…fuzzy in their programs about what color your silks actually are (we had three races with two different horses before we got the memo through that our sleeves were blue, not purple. Where they got purple, no one knows, both the majority and minority owners’ colors are blue and white.)
I must say I have no idea if the BCHers will be pleased at the win or angry that their predictions ( the “horse’s heart isn’t in racing anymore” and that the horse is pining for his old minority owners) were wrong. Strange bunch of folks.
I hope the horse does well in Dubai. Of course if he does, the sour grapes that seem so prevalent now, may cause the group to become completely unhinged. Not that they aren’t well on their way to that end already…
If the horse does well in Dubai I’m sure the minority owners that sold their share will be wishing they hadn’t. Hopefully the one man, Coburn? will have moved on from his outbursts of poor sportsmanship after the Belmont (that was really horrendous) and will congratulate the current owners (and the horse) on a job well done.
He’s a nice horse and deserves not to be associated with poorly behaved connections. Thankfully, the current partnership seems less likely to make an exhibition of themselves.
Annoyed that their Christmas cards were not acknowledged – just shows that they are more into themselves than the gesture.
Surprised at the acceptance of Chrome’s win – now they sound like they are pleased for it. They can’t decide which side of the fence they are on. Dubai is a seven week campaign – I can almost BCH lamenting the lack of any news over that time.
Wonder if they heard Roger Stein on radio on Sunday discussing Chrome that he had heard enough of Coburn to ‘last a lifetime.’

In a link that was posted Martin did say something about all the Christmas cards as well as the cookies. But maybe they were expecting Martin to personally send thank you cards to every single person that sent something??
And now they are getting all worked up that the Vox Populi signing happened yesterday, and how dare Penny Chenery sign pictures of American Pharoah on California Chrome’s “day”
Does the stupid ever end?
Apparently the triple crown connection netween Secretariat and AP eluded them.
I got a good chuckle at the one who went on about how California Chrome is Secretariat’s great-great-great grandson. Yet I think she failed to realize that AP’s damsire is a son of Storm Cat which also makes AP a great-great-great grandson of Secretariat.

I looked at the BCH page because I couldn’t believe anyone would really write that. I wish I could quote the post from the BCH page.
 Someone really wrote that!
A Deborah Hartzog It was Chrome’s day… AP had his year of glory… at least let Chrome have his. We all know AP is a great horse but so is Chrome. Maybe he didn’t win the Triple Crown but he’s still a great horse. It was his day to return to racing and it should have been his. They could have had the signing another day… JMO and we are entitled to it.
Mary Jo Nerly PENNY Chenery should not have been signing posters of American Pharoah. If she wanted to sign posters it should gave been California Chrome’s picture. California Chrome is also a great great great grandson of Secretariat. Today was California Chrome’s day and it was a great dsy.
Utterly clueless morons.
This was posted on one of the pictures of Chrome from yesterday:
Chris Evans. gone are the days of horsemen. Now they are led with a chain on their gums. Ridiculous … At least the nonsense duct tape is not painful.
I so wish I could post and point out that Chrome does not have duct tape on his nose but a breathing strip but I was long ago banned after about 2 posts. The ignorance of some of these people is really beyond belief…

They love his “prancing” though, and seem unaware that it would quickly become much more than “prancing” if he were unrestrained. It is clear that most of the contact (if any) that these people have had with horses has not been with stallions and certainly not with TB racehorses.
What I don’t understand is their disinclination to educate themselves ,even a little, on the subject about which they claim to be so “passionate” . Obviously they are capable of using the internet, and there are educational materials out there that would help them better understand and enjoy horses.
Of course, racing has its tragedies so it’s unfortunate that they have become obsessed with a racehorse.
The person that has the BCH page reads like a petulant and spiteful teenager.
An example of the kid not knowing how much they don’t know, which is common enough, but since when is it OK to get so personal, and angry, with people with whom you have no dialog and no business?
I haven’t seen the current connections engaging with these people, and the minority partners who were rather uncouth about their public statements have sold their interest in the horse and are now out of the picture.
So why all the nastiness? I am (still) confused as to what these people really want. Control of the management of a horse that they have no connection with?
As I have opined previously, I think this group would make an interesting study from a sociology/psychology perspective, though I suppose people who thrive on perpetual outrage are nothing new. It is interesting though, that a fanatic obsession with movie or television stars, in this case has been transferred to a horse.
The comments re Penny Chenery are bizarre to the point of being creepy, of course so were the statements in the past that expressed hope that the horse would be injured…
Have they never seen historical pictures of race horses? And those with all the stallion experience. Probably one stallion if they aren’t lying. Any stallion handler who doesn’t understand that chains may be needed shouldn’t be handling stallions.
Now the cry from BCH as they unite is to purchase scores of PowerBall Lottery tickets and purchase the horse if they bring home the top prize.
They continue to wail about the sad hand-off from the Coburns of their beloved equine family member (who they shopped to the highest bidder, no doubt). Get over it. I still have not heard a reasonable explanation of why the Coburns were required to sell their shares ‘to save his life.’
Contrary to what the BCHers claim ‘it’s not the same without the Coburns’ at the race’, I found it delightfully refreshing to not have to witness the foolish antics and hold your breath in case stupid, damaging words flow out of his mouth.
Chrome will depart for the Middle East within days, so imagine the withdrawal these folks will endure if the media keeps quiet on the horse’s daily training?
Oh my. I can see it now…
They could keep him in the back yard and teach him tricks! Or let him “run free”, never to be able to put a halter on him again without being seriously injured.
I suppose there is nothing wrong with having a fantasy…though I do think that sort of thing is mostly in the purview of 10 year old children.
My god, I thought it was fantastic that we didn’t have to see the antics of Steve Coburn. Perry Martin was there, walked over to the railing of the saddling paddock before the horses came out to talk to a few fans, but he wasn’t carrying on like some looney toon.
I think Kerri Farrands need to keep her damn typing fingers quiet (and mouth shut) if she wants to persist in shoving her spawn in front of the Sherman’s and co. It’d be as if I were out there bad mouthing one of O’Neill’s owners (who are all lovely people by the way, the ones that I’ve met anyway) on social media, but going kissy-kissy to the horses. Being able to get up close and personal with horses is a privilege, not a right, and you damn well don’t earn that privilege by slandering and maligning owners.

Do they realize they can’t buy him if he’s not for sale? If I were Perry Martin I wouldn’t sell to those clowns for any sum of money.
