AMEN, Harry! My sentiments exactly.

Oh brother…to think I came in for lunch and this was the first post I’ve read today
Perhaps you should read some of the posts leading to mine before you trash it like that. I felt Chanda deserved a response, since I did make the mistake of using her name in a post without any direct communication with her. I was trying to right a wrong, so to speak becasue I respect her. Hence, the “not to rehash…” statement.
Got any paper towels?
You dont need them if you just swallow

However, I’d never heard of her, other than the fact that she was one of the horse killers. Paul Valliere is a much more visible entity, in part because of the Eq judging issue earlier.
Well, I thought you were against all those who were involved in the horse killings not just those who are “much more visable entities”. If you only attack those who are high profile then that to me would seem like a vendetta against one person and since this entire forum only talks about PV and his actions I wonder why this is not defined as a vendetta. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
scout - sorry you misunderstood. I am totally against any and all horse killers being allowed into the USEF. I hadn’t gotten involved before, because I didn’t know that anyone was close to their possible reinstatement date. Because Paul has made himself such a visible entity and is better known, his possible reinstatement is more publicly known about. That’s all, at least for me.
if you can tell me what NSBC is… then I 'll be thinkin you are smarter than your posting implies.
Just because everybody else (well, technically not everybody, but some prominent others) was doing it, doesn’t make it ok.
Do we know who that trainer was? So we have the vet falsifying the medical cause for that horse but it’s the trainer that’s the culprit in my book.
I know that it’s the same for all but I’m not sure what it means. Whenever something is subjective I get very nervous. These terms all can be stretched and bent.
What does “reform himself mean”? And what kind and how much community service.
I can see where the defenders of PV believe his has met the minimum requirements listed since they are not defined or in any kind of measurable language.
I can also see where there is no opportunity to question whether anyone doesn’t meet this criteria. We have to give some serious consideration as to the best way to approach the question.
I just don’t understand, why, when you say your focus is for these poor horses that died, why instead of focusing this campaign on horses that are already dead, people that have already been sentenced…WHY dont you turn the focus on things that are still happening… Horses that are STILL being killed for insurance money? Veterinarians that are still illegally signing Death Certificates??? It’s beginning to look like there is a personal grudge behind all this, Why dont you focus on saving horses that are still alive? Preventing this from reoccuring??
too busy busy with the hundred’s or I forgot the THOUSAND’s of clents (talk to Oxer about that one-((she’s in the next stall)), by the way email C. Boylen-she crashed the party). She hates hidden posters on this subject but I guess that is only when they do not befriend PV.
Mucking his barn???hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha gasp…sigh.
Duffy, that is where your mother and mine may have differed. Mine never forgot anything, especially if it was something that was personally embarassing to me.
And let’s not forget that Barnie Ward repeatedly showed up at shows and the USEF (then AHSA) spent membership money on legal fees to assure that their ban on him coming onto show grounds was ENFORCEABLE.
I’m so tired of this “finger in your eye” attitude by people who break the rules - and in some cases HEINOUSLY. And are we to accept these were just totally isolated incidences? There are some mistakes in life that saying “I’m sorry” isn’t ENOUGH. Living with the consequences IS THE PUNISHMENT.
And Snowbird is right - if the USEF pulls some candy-a**ed move here and let’s anymore of these people back - they should be STRIPPED of the NGB TITLE by the USOC.
I can see why USEF makes it a little difficult to file a protest. Otherwise, there would a slews of silly protests filed every day.
But it seems hard to believe that if there really has been a violation of this magnitude at Wellington (with eyewitnesses), there isn’t a single USEF member with $200 willing to file a protest.
Surely there is a reason the rule has so many descriptive words in it. Seems to be trying to cover as much ground as possible to me.
Yes, I doubt you could get a Wellington or an Ocala participant to sign.
Actually, If someone who is suspended is seen on the show grounds, one is supposed to go and get a steward.
Snowy, I think it means they don’t really know what they are going to do, and aren’t going to think about it until he applies. They are pretty much bound not to make a public judgement on it before he asks to come back.
I would also like to see this tape/link be made generally available. A picture is worth a thousand words, and all.
Well, it was still rude, crude and unattractive, as my mother would say.
I’d Delete the part that starts with “For his violation of the rules as charged” and add something along the lines of “As a condition of his suspension, he was ordered to not be on the showgrounds of any recognized event. His violation of this ruling has been blatant, as evidenced by his appearance at WEF. There have been no public displays of remorse, and in fact, he continues to train and make a living off of the same type of animals he had killed purely for the love of money. To allow reinstatement would be a slap in the face of those members who abide by the USEF bylaws.”
Maybe not worded quite as dramatically, but something along those lines. I liked it though.

IT APPEARS THAT THESE SELF-RIGHTEOUS ACTS WREAK OF NEGATIVE ENERGY AND RESENTMENT THAT DOES NO ONE ANY GOOD. WHAT VALLIERE DID WAS WRONG. DO YOU THINK THERE IS ANY POSSIBILITY THAT HE IS UNAWARE OF THAT FACT? THIS IS WHAT THE PROCESS OF RE-INSTATEMENT IS ALL ABOUT !! IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE NAYSAYERS’ TIME AND MONEY WOULD BE FAR BETTER SPENT DOING GOOD FOR THOSE IN NEED RATHER THAN TRYING TO TAKE SOMEONE OUT WHO HAS CLEARLY LEARNED HIS LESSON. PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES AND PEOPLE FORGIVE MISTAKES. IT IS CALLED COMPASSION AND FORGIVENESS. IT FEELS FAR BETTER TAHN GETTING OFF ON SOMEONE ELSES MISFORTUNE.
There is no reason to shout (the capital letters). We all have our opinions that is what makes us a great country. As for making a mistake, a mistake is unintentional. What was done was premeditated, that is not a mistake! As for misfortune, he is making money while still coaching from the sidelines. He hires others to go to the ring while he tries to figure out how to coach at the show without being near the ring. I am sure others will be responding too.
