I personally am against reinstatement of anyone convicted of a crime involving cruelty to animals, or needless death of a horse for personal gain.
Of course, if the owner of horse Cakes out an ad giving “all the credit” to suspended person A, then horse C’s owner might be in violation for exhibiting “for the reputation” of suspended person A.
owners give ‘all the credit’ to anyone other than themselves? Thank You maybe… Does the rule prohibit appreciation?
OK! Take this back to the day we submit the petition. We say we believe there is no evidence to prove that PV (or any other such person) convicted and confessed to murder of a horse for money should not be Reinstated with the benefits of full membership because…?
No Duffy I don’t think that’s true because most show grounds are sanctioned or licensed for a full 24 hours per day. There could be a day in between each 5 day show but I doubt that’s true because it would allow another show to sneak in on the Calendar with another C/B Rated Show and if there were three days with another A Rated Show.
Harry, the bad guy always gets the last word in. Just like me! I am Sheila’s new best friend!
BTW, I don’t have any problem with anyone who chooses not to sign the petition. It’s a public document and there are many reasons someone might not wish to sign regardless of one’s feelings on the issue.
PV is up for reinstatement earlier than most because he assisted in the conviction of the other players by wearing a wire. I consider that to be in his favor.
On the other hand, he’s IMHO violated the spirit if not the letter of the rules of suspension by actively schooling competitors for classes at USEF competitions. Notice I didn’t say “training horses” or “giving lessons” both of which are outside the USEF jurisdiction. IMHO, renting a farm adjacent to showgrounds, warming people up and generally participating in a recognized show even though he didn’t technically set foot on the grounds is a failure to accept the terms of the disciplinary action.
It seems to me that he is likely to reapply, given the new rule changes that make it more obvious that having an assistant employed by a suspended person who is representing that person is not OK. But what do I know.
I signed the petition not because I hate PV - I don’t know him and I don’t hate him. I signed it because I think it’s important that the Federation know that there is a lot of consternation about reinstating him. I don’t think someone who has been actively undermining the spirit of the rules of the Federation for the past 10 years is an asset as a member.
I REALLY would like to see who in our industry has signed this petition…but when I try to access this area, it states I should contact the owner of the page.
Any suggestions, anyone?
Drop it people. Get back to the topic at hand, please.
O.K.–the onus to file a complaint is on the person with proof of a violation. And you’re telling me that no one has done that.
Is there someone out there with the proof and the desire to file a complaint?
Nope-
Still here.
Just have ‘other’ things to do once in awhile than sit at my keyboard.
I think it would a great news story that the majority of the people in the horse business had had enough and they want the Federation to ban all convicted horse killers from being a particpant in our shows.
I think the story would better if we also took a firm stand against child molesters and con-man who steal horses buy keeping the money. Wouldn’t it be a great story if the people in a sport demanded reformation against the criminal element?
I thinkl the sport would look like a safe place for families if they knew we wanted to protect them from the criminals who would steal their money and kill horses to defraud the Insurance Companies.

No dearie; now listen carefully…new violations of new rules by those that he employs to go to shows for him…new violations of new rules for riders that exhibit with said trainer employee. An employee i.e. some paid for services is in essence an agent of said party. Being his agent is a new violation.
Exactly. A woooonderful example of remorse and adherence to the USEF’s restrictions, eh?
I am afraid Varsity if you keep this up you will bury Paul Valliere in your own words.
Oh, we should be so lucky!

And I have read also with amazement some posts from you and others who just want their own way–forget that the Rules allow each suspended person to apply for reinstatement–, and who I am sure are otherwise possibly reasonable folk.
No one here is denying these murderers their right to apply for reinstatement under the current rules. What we hope to accomplish is their membership reinstatement application is denied, as well as to make sure other members who commit heineous acts against these horses are given lifetime suspensions.
I have never enjoyed having xegeba around as much as I do right now! She and sheila are the only ones with wit around here…flies straight over most of the heads of people who reply to them.
I never understood why when people can’t think of what to insult a person over then they just insult their spelling. There are so many better options that would make for so much better reading. And besides, insulting someone’s spelling/capitalization is just, well, really lame.

and 2, that the ‘public story’ is not entirely the truth, and the media has taken control and sensationalized the story tremendously.
There are facts that have been left out, and untruths been inserted.
It is not my business to disclose anything about what I have learned, as I’m certain there is considerable legal counsel involved.
But what I will say is this…I am intelligent and successful person who has been blessed with a compassionate soul. All truths considered, I forgive this man.
You must realize anthem that it would be in PV’s best interest to disclose facts of the case that haven’t been revealed. Although I realize there might be legalities to consider, surely it is his right as a human being to get the true story across. I mean, people, including his friend Mason Phelps are comparing his past actions to the actions of a rapist or murderer. Surely, he can hire some lawyers who can help him air the true story if the facts demonstrate that he didn’t do such a heinous thing? By heinous I mean the fact that he gave Tommy Burns the go ahead to electrocute Roseau Platiere-is there a different version of these facts that haven’t come to light in a decade??
There are many well respected individuals who are very active in the USEF horse show community who are by far the most well informed of the story, and who, by knowing all the facts, are welcoming him back.
We are all very well informed of the “story”. A horse was killed, the insurance company was lied to, individual received insurance money=fraud.

Obviously, you know nothing about the man in question. He mucks daily and arrives with or before all his staff. His day starts and ends with stalls.
What did NB present to the USEF showing that she should be allowed back in? That’s what I wonder about. Since they seemed to have no problem letting her back in I fear for what will happen with all the others.
That reponse sounds as if the USEF would not have done as AHSA and suspended Paul Valliere.
They are simply enforcing the suspension.
What exactly does than mean? If PV applies for Re-Instatement how does this administration see their position? Proponent for Paul Valliere or for the horses that died? Most of this administration has probably not read the record.
Snowbird, do you know why the Acres Wild horses’ ban began on 01/01/01 whereas the Cellular farm’s ones began in 1998? Is it possible that PV’s case got reviewed in 2001?
Salud!
