Racetb it’s called cabin fever or the grey blah! I completely understand. But, to add to the dilemma I got thrown out of Catholic School. I had a bru-ha with the Priest in confession because he said there were no animals in heaven; and I said then I don;t want to go…Momma Mia he wouldn’t have been that mad if I had told I wanted grow to be prostitute.
He insisted animals did not have souls and therefore were not welcome in heaven and I said that the animals I knew were better than some people.
And a few weeks later I was in public school.
Question- if the issue is reinstatement why is PV being singled out?
Shall I PM yyou the info or how would you like me to do it? Thanks
Terrible story. I’m signing!
Bonnie

Does anyone know how many members there are in USEF? I cruised around the website and could not find that info. I am wondering what percentage we have of the membership on the petition. ( I know all sigs are not members)
Thanks!
Some years ago, when I worked with the then-AHSA, I believe the total was in the neighborhood of 80k for the entire organization. What percentage of the group is represented in the H/J discipline I don’t recall.
Last I heard the H/J part of USEF is 16K, but the USEF is our NGB so the entire horse industry has a stake.
Our society is amazing. Just look at the women who married killers like Ted Bundy and the Menendes brothers after they were convicted and imprisoned for multiple and grisly murders (didn’t Ted Bundy kill nearly 70 women?)…And, if I recall correctly, Bundy received thousands of letters from folks who “supported” him. In fact, I believe this convicted killer was described as “intelligent” and “charming.” In any case, it is sad that many murderers are given “celebrity” status.
I can forgive when someone has taken a life, but cannot forget. Anyone who has maliciously killed, or arranged to kill, a horse should never be allowed to earn a living in the horse world. NEVER. It would be one thing if the death was accidental…but I think it has been well documented that it was not.
Thank you Hiddenlake, exactly…
That’s an interesting question. So could it be likely that a horse is insured if there is reason to be suspicious that it could have a problem? IF a horse was injured already but by something not covered by loss of use that could mitigate the actions.
You see there are just too many unknowns to have an intelligent opinion. This leaves us with a confession and a public reason and a conviction that we all know happened.
Harry, don’t watch it. You will have nightmares.

I have a question here… please recognize that this is a QUESTION, I am not trying to get stoned to death here. When these men were indicted, they were tried, and found guilty and given a sentence to punish them. They have served that sentence. Evidently there is a huge following of people who are unhappy with the sentence, but it seems to me, the time for petitioning and campaigning this point was at the sentencing!! When someone serves a jail sentence and is released to society, we don’t take them back to jail and put them back in because we dont personally believe they deserve to return to society! It would undermine the entire justice system! A sentence is basically a contract between society and a criminal that says that we feel they need to serve “X” amount of time for what they have done. People don’t have to personally forgive them, but when a sentence is up, it’s up. So where was this protest when the indicted were sentenced?? And if over 1600 people are willing to sign a petition, and we have people buying shirts and such, wouldn’t it be more beneficial for the industry to focus the protest on the act itself and prevention of it, instead of people who have already been found guilty and been sentenced, and served their time??? Just looking for opinions here, not to be burned at the stake!!!
The jest of this thread was not about the sentences, it is about the possible reinstatement of certain people to the USEF. Certain people have continue to undermine their suspension by certain acts. The opinion of the mass is not to have these people allowed back in the industry. Personally, I think the judicial sentence should have been a lifetime
out of the business. Plus certain people made deals with the prosecutors to save themselves. But that is JMO.
they deserve to be able to get on with their lives without the singular view-point folks chasing them around forever.
No, no they don’t.
To participate was a choice. Those involved didn’t need to. But they did.
I hope this haunts them like a ghost. Forever.
The fact is Harry if he were the slightest bit sorry he would not have risked those children in the clippings I posted where they were riding horses owned by Paul Valiere. Under the rules they both could be penalized.
He has behaved badly since as well. He certainly knows that hiring a proxy is against the rules. Sure it doesn’t say exactly that he can’t send an employee instead of him but everyone knows what it means. Who can possibly anticipate the actions of someone who is not honorable except someone else who is not honorable?
OK, didn’t mean to cause offense: the little people piece is linked to or quoted on one of these threads in such a way that I mistook it for the petition. I was pretty surprised by the way I thought it was worded!
I hope the USEF is a temporary setback because I think this is a really big deal. I think alters idea of getting the sponsors involved is great. Eventers, breeders and dressage people are USEF members too and may not know about this situation.
Renn, thank you for putting things clearly, and in an adult manner. And Jane, what have you or anyone else on here said that I have not been able to understand?
Quick question - list of horses killed: Belgium Waffle, Emili’s Choice, Rainman, Roseau Platiere, Streetwise, Empire, Pet of the Year and Cloud Castle, Charisma and Rub the Lamp - that’s 10 - have I missed any?

This tickles me.
If you think these people have big trust funds, how big must yours be, since it allows you time not only to follow what they’re doing, but to comment on it? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
I just do this for scientific study–I am amazed by the number of crazies there are in this world.
[Is he, Carl knee not in Europe? I was told thathe, and others caught in the “resrpinesting” were facing life suspensions, and , so moved out of the country . Anyone know?+

Ah, so following your reasoning mwe, we should forgive those who treated their wives as chattel, hanged black men for looking at white women, stoning women in Iran, and all the other disgusting things that people do to each other and to animals all because “it was just what was done at the time?”
I know my examples are extreme, but saying “that’s how it was” is ludicrous. Not everyone did it and even if a lot of people did it, it doesn’t make it okay.
