There are laws against insurance fraud and laws against animal cruelty, as well as USEF’s own rules. I don’t think anyone is lobbying for “horse murder” laws. The laws/rules that already exist were broken, which led to people being suspended, and the petition against their reinstatement.
Honestly Erin, I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with your first statement as I am reading much to the contrary by many of the people posting here. In my book, murder is a crime and thus something that someone should be tried and judged for…if people are calling someone a horse murderer, then that indicates to me that they feel that it is a crime to kill a horse. I really was curious as to how these posters were proposing to define this “crime”.
