The "NO REINSTATEMENT" thread.

It may not be PV’s fault but it’s there and if there is no such farm at that address he should have retired the name.

Snowbird, no fear. That won’t happen because Paul hasn’t owned a farm in RI for YEEEEEEEARS. In fact, Paul doesn’t own anything beside maybe a house or two (and I could even be wrong there).

Perhaps it’s a mistake from Acres Wild to have not updated the USEF on the RI farm. However, it’s been owned and operated under another name for quite some time now.

Personally, i wouldn’t want to be a member of any club, group, organization etc. that would open its doors to people who have no respect for the law-abiding members who are good sportsmen, in good standing. If I was a member, then, I would cancel my membership.

But, that’s just me. I wonder if there are others out there who feel strongly enough that they’re willing to cancel their membership.
After all, they can’t operate without you.
or they could, but who would go to the shows?

I

why don’t you do your homework before spewing all that non-sense? it’s a good thing they have rules for filing protests, otherwise all the loose canons would be filing left and right based on unfounded GOSSIP.

BTW, the deposit are refunded in the event the protest is upheld, so no, the USEF isn’t looking to rip anyone off.

AS long as the bracelets bring attention to the issue, they’re doing their job, regardless of colour, race, sex, or creed.

I wonder if the ASPCA keeps an “eye” on PV and his horses?

Excellent question ise@ssl How would they all define a natural death?

aND HOW DO YOU DEFINE UMBRELLA? oPPS! my shift key has been insulted and is attacking me for not defending it. I’m sorry shifty I will never do that again.

Just to clarify, Anthem. You pay show training fees to a different entity/person who does not, in any way, pass along any of those fees to PV.

A quick question. Obviously, those training with PV off site, do not list him as their “trainer” on their entries. But, how does this other trainer sign off as far as care/custody on your horse with regards to medications, etc.? Or, do you sign as your own trainer at the shows?

Well, the bookeeping and finance end of the business is no business of mine.
I will say again though that we are lucky to have several talented trainers on staff at AWF, all members of the USEf in very good standing.
Paul does not take me to the ring, and I dont need him to be there.
What is accomplished off show grounds but the entire team at AWF is very well done to prepare me for the showring, without extensive coaching at the show.

Schadenfreude. Obviously.

Maybe you mean you’re getting support from some members of the Jockey Club.

Much better way of putting it, Sheila, thank you, yes, that’s correct.

And yes, we’re working on sponsors.

Is it just me or does it seem like some of the “banned” posters are now back with “new” names or maybe even sending in “proxies” to do their job?
Hmmmmm… sound a bit like the situation that we are discussing at WEF. LOVE the irony of it all!!!

I’m confused…are you guys saying the people who choose to make a living buying and selling horses are greedy? Or, are you saying that only the wealthy can afford insurance [not based on any rates I know of, but what the heck]? Or, are you saying that if a horse is not suited to one particular rider that the person is greedy to want to sell it to get another one?

Problems with the horse…

Screw in the leg where it had been fractured,(8 inch scar I should have noticed but didn’t), bench knee, 12 large melanomas on the sheath, kidney problems–couldn’t keep on weight even though he had been there 8 months. Vet said he might last at 3’6, but I really need a low a/o horse with potential to move up. He was a VERY nice horse, but I felt cheated…I was never really allowed to be alone with the horse to look him over properly. When you try horses at their place, you just stand in the arena while the groom brings up the horse with your saddle on.

A horse with pins should never be presented for sale let alone for $$. It’s b/c of people like this we are going to end up like real estate sales, brokers, realators, background checks. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I remember asking the woman who was my trainer at the time; ‘what if I’m in the ring, jumping 4’3, and that pinned leg comes undone?’ The bigger deal was the melanomas…looks like the horse was in really bad shape overall, and I think about him often, wondering where he is right now, because he was such a nice animal–he just ended up in the wrong hands. If they had been upfront and honest about him, I probably would have bought him for a MUCH reduced price and used him as a pleasure/trail horse.

Schyler, I’m with you. But not because of PV’s (Who I know by reputation only) actions of the past, but because what I see here amounts to a veiled attempt to influence the Hearing Committee, and deny PV his due process. Courts of law try to prevent “mob influence” by giving high profile defendants such protection as change of venue and voire dire in jury selection. You can be sure that when this issue comes before a Hearing Panel, all sides of the issue will be weighed…with public opinion being one of them. But I find it unbelievably mean spirited for a group of (well meaning) horse lovers to try to skew the process by inciting a moblike reaction.

I am as mushy about horses as any of you, and have a pasture full of old retired friends who serve no purpose, eat the most expensive, high protein soft gruel that can be concocted for their toothless enjoyment, and enjoy a nice warm stall at night ( that could be occupied by a useful saleable horse) to prove it. I cannot imagine killing a horse because of convenience. But, I also hope that I never reach a point where I feel that a person, who has “served his time”, displayed remorse, and who clearly has much to offer, should be denied a fair and impartial shot at the hearing process.

I really am not privy to all the

He schools his students at WEF on schooling day. I think that’s pushing the envelope pretty hard.

And I wouldn’t be so quick to assume all trainers feel he should be reinstated. I know several who have severed friendships with other people involved in horse killing fiasco.

I also wouldn’t equate the willingness to do business with him with respect.

Noooooooooo Jumphigh he wasnt out mucking his stalls he was busy with his electrician making sure all the electrical outlets were all in good working order

Sheila… you seem like a reasonable person. Perhaps you can help clear the muddy waters for me. Is there a difference between the owner that sends their useless horse off to slaughter ( for pennies on the pound)and the owner that slaughters their horse for insurance bucks?

Yes there is a difference. The insurance fraudsters never keep the horse’s poop in their freezer.

WHAT???!!!

How did this thread go from speaking about the issues to now talking about church & state? Plus being extremely disrespectful to people who have been here forever. And care deeply about this sport/business/national pastime. Whether we like someones input or not, respect is something we need to show. JrJumper, please try to be respectful. Whether you agree or not, it does not matter. Snowy has been here and posted since the BB started. We all have had times when we didn’t agree. But, knowing her passion, we posted respectfully.

Oops! How did this drop down to page 3. Gremlins? In any case I believe War Admiral is posting the pages from the Chronicle history that tells the whole story for anyone no aware.
