The "NO REINSTATEMENT" thread.

Totally agree. All we “little people” can do now is to make sure the USEF and others hear that we think a lifetime ban is appropriate, and that includes not reinstating those who received limited bans.

Snowbird, my VAGUE recollection of conversations w/ USEF folks last year, which may or may not be correct, is that USEF can’t really address it unless/until each individual applies for reinstatement - the application process is what puts it back on the table as a point to be discussed. If that’s procedurally incorrect maybe someone in the know can correct me…??

As I said Thank God for the exceptions. When you all are the majority life will be good again.

First Mike I would love someone to write it. I’m on the brink of another fine having been away all week at the convention; having to say good-bye to a good friend and I have only one more day to close my January Show to meet USEF current standards.

Exactly.

Thank you War. We should keep to the issue. Which for me, is not an issue. Its plain no. If you felt that killing a horse, then insurance fraud was acceptable behavior, you need not be back. Our charter pretty much covers it.

I did as well Seal. But we both could be wrong on that… It may have lengthened his suspension.

Killing a horse for the sole reason of defrauding an insurance company goes way past a “mistake”.
He paid to get something killed. It’s dead. Then he lied so he could get money for it being dead.

How does that define the highest standard of horsemanship and why is it in the best interest of the animal?

He’s reformed???

What happens if he gets another horse for a client that disappoints?? Or finds himself short of cash??

Make no mistake, if he’d just have gone out and shot it, I wouldn’t be signing that petition.
But the hiring a hit man, financing the elaborate execution scheme then defrauding the insurance company???

Past what should be allowed to publically represent my sport.

Also, he must have also “acted” remorseful in front of his clients and staff over the “colic death” of Roseau Platiere. It makes me sick just thinking about all the plotting that was involved…

I don’t think I can forgive too easily and I’m NOT going to forget. If that makes me a founding member of the “Little People” clique so be it. It’s something I can do for the memory of that poor horse.

RaceTB–Hey I may need to steal the baseball Jesus. My 5 year old son is going to a local Catholic school. He came home the other day (Christmas pageant time) to tell us how much he DOES NOT like the baby Jesus. He is petrified that I “might grow another baby” and thus does not like any “disgusting, smelly baby”. YIKES!! Wish me luck, may the gods of the baseball Jesus shine down upon my heathen son. I think that the benign, sporty baseball Jesus may help my son reconsider his first impression

i’ve asked before, what makes everyone think that he will even apply for reinstatement? you are all so convinced that he has been coaching/training/schooling/whatever from the parking lot (i’ve never seen it, so who knows if it’s true) so he’s proven that he doesn’t need his membership, so why should he bother to aplly? anyone know? i mean, if he’s gotten around it for this long, then why not keep avoiding it, and avoiding having to pay the $$$ that everyone complains about having to shell out every year?

You’re not missing anything…but details and the truth.

Another example of how the media can distort the truth and separate the reality.

GREAT!!! Thank you so much Seahorse!

I have only found “The Perfect Distance”, and the review didn’t sound anything like this. I think that is new? A different book?

C.Boylen you don’t know that at all. It could be that people felt so sorry for those kids they just didn;t want to punish them

If the horses were shown, they have valid, active USEF numbers. End of story.

Not correcting he Farm records that show him as the sole propietor of Acres Wild is not very diligent or business like if you’re really sorry.

Acres Wild Inc. is not owned by Paul, and does not come up under the search as owned by Paul. Check it.

Just as an FYI, some of the Cafe Press stuff ALREADY HAS THE HORSES’ NAMES ON IT.

This shirt has them on the back.

So does this one.

And this one.

And this one.

I’m writing this very hastily 'cause I’m in a mad rush today, so there may be some I’ve missed. But the trick is to view both the front and the back of the shirt. Horse_Poor is our Cafe Press point person, so PM her if you have any Q’s!

Hope that helps.

Edit: We don’t have Jatomic Striker on the shirts, b/c at the time they were designed we didn’t have the paperwork to prove he was a victim of the insurance scam, but thanks to this thread, we now do - so if/when Horse_Poor gets a chance to add him it’ll get done!

Jello anyone?

I know an “Equine Dentist” that moonlights as a truckdriver. He mows lawns as well. i think he graduated from High School.

I know I’m whispering into a howling wind, but personally, I find the latter part of this whole thread alarming. The extreme opinions and directives may only serve to drive away people who are trying to find their own stance on the issue.

If you have issue with this man being reinstated, fine - power to the people and all that. To suggest however that following this man to “document” infractions is nothing short of screwy and smacks or some left (or right) wing vigilantism that has gone far beyond the original intent of the petition.

I cant speak for him, but at this point, I’m not sure where I’d be begin to apologize to the community.

But I’m sure he wishes he knew.

You just begin. And that beginning can be anywhere he likes.

Thank you Harry.

…Alright…here goes fatmouth. It IS a hard decision for those of us who grew up with Paul and many others involved in this. Why would you jump on the very people you need to sign…because they gave it some thought and aren’t running around with a lighted torch?! Ages ago, LaurieP posted the most level headed observations I’ve yet to hear on this thread. Those of us that dealt with big hunter jumper farm all our lives, have seen the underbelly of this industry from day one. […and we’ve seen just the opposite too, from kind, true horsemen and women]. Training methods that would make a poor animal WISH for electrocution. None of these people got “caught”…and like Laurie said; Over the years “you draw your own line”, have the courage of your [hopefully humane] convictions, and do what you can. Jumping down someone’s throat who’s come over to your side, because it was a hard descision, hardly seems fair. One can sign without foaming at the mouth. PV has every right to attempt reinstatement. You have every right to challenge this. I guess I just feel ambivalent, as I know the man is no threat. He’s in the limelight. The public is watching. His horses are treated beautifully NOW…and my time would be better served helping the hundreds of poor animals going through hell in all the “undiscovered” sales barns from Hell.

horse poor, thank you. You have a PM
