There are plenty of people in jail for various things that have “a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise” in their particular field. But I don’t think THAT carries a lot of weight with the parole board.

IF reading every (122) page is required prior to posting I guess this ends here. I admit to skimming as there is so much repetition. but have a few comments, answers, questions: Twice
snowbird said,“didn’t want to rub shoulders” with Paul. What are the chances of that ever happening?
There was the bit about (getting pix of) him on show grounds. Do you know where his barn is? Have you been there? Many years ago he was off in the distance. The show grounds have grown and grown and now abut his property. It is encroaching on HIM. He was there first. How do you suggest he gets down the road?
“Does a steward ever post on these boards” Yes Bev Bedard (among the best stewards) when see sees something she could answer. I doubt she would hunt thru’ 100+ pages tho’. She does not use an alias…
AND to even THINK of putting the Jaynes in this thread. OMG! I was in the Chicago(area)
horse world in the '60’s…They shot, butchered, blew up PEOPLE!. Horses were a sideline.
Remember a few years back when all those BNT’s
got set down? Oh, FLA was going o be so different. Yea right! Nothing changed~ their asst. did the kids, it was business as usual. Who didn’t show cuz their trainer was set down? So why is what Paul does different? And wht DO you want him to do? Work at Mc Donalds? And what was he suppose to say over the past 10 years? and to who? He"s suspended!
I realize this thread is a do not reinstate thread and only those who support that are suppose to post. But…“the other side”
sure has helped keep it going and going and going’. so we shall see. I will climb back under my rock now.

Hugi got a fine and six months in prison. Don’t know what the veterinary association decided to do with him.
Of course on that note, who better to hire to deal with a sneaky european, than a sneaky american, lol, so have at it.
No point.
I want to read more about this so I am sure to get all of the facts. What is the name of the book written about it (referred to in an earlier post)? Where can I find out more information?
I’m not sure I quite understand your question Linus… but, IMO, I would consider “making a contribution to the horse community” something that someone does for which they DO NOT get paid, first of all. And also that would be for the betterment of the community, not just for ribbons.
A few examples I can think of off the top of my head… Robert Dover’s Equestrian AIDS Foundation, the Horses in the Hood program (I think that’s Kathy Kusner?), the folks who used their farm semis to shuttle feed, grain and supplies down to the Gulf Coast after Katrina… stuff like that.
I don’t really think the intent of the suspension was to say that these people could not be involved in horses AT ALL during their suspensions (although some people here seem to be of the opinion that the suspendees should have done that of their own volition).
I know some think that the suspendees are “contributing to the horse community” by training people and winning… but I have a sneaking suspicion that that’s not REALLY what the USEF had in mind.
The mortality on the ones I own is less than their “value”. I have it mainly for the major med. On the one I lease, I have to maintain the mortality for the full value. (ouch!)

Yes, I’m just not sure what it says yet
Regardless, competing in USEF sanctioned events is a privilege, not a right, and I’m not willing to give him back a privilege. I think allowing him to come to the shows and be a mentor to juniors does not sit as well with me as perhaps letting Barney Ward watch his offspring ride…It’s one thing to let someone watch his kid, it’s another to let someone actively participate. I’m just not htere and I’m not willing to let known horse murderers be training juniors.
under the rules that went in to effect in Dec. '05
Are these new rules we have been reading? Which ones are new as of Dec 05?

What a sexist thing to say… how do you know it’s not our Mother’s trust funds thank you very much. I’m sure there are many folks here who work as well.
On a more on topic note, what do you care what these people do with their time? Maybe they make time for important causes. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
when not working at Planned Parenthood selling abortions to young girls?
Harry,
Why does this thread always go back to PV, when there are others in a similar situation? Ie Barney Ward, Lindeman, Marion Hulick. If it weren’t for PV’s supporters it would be a general topic. Also I don’t believe any of them answered if they were pro reinstatement for the above names.
so… no brownie points for squealers?
Possibly, but as long as they are not on USEF grounds, and the horse in question is not on paper owned by said parties, there wouldn’t be an infraction. You can be trained by anyone. Thanking someone, is not having them on paper as your trainer. IE: entry blank.
Can you then understand that to many of us who really love our less than spectacular horses. That we have mostly voted them into the family. They are to some people their only children.
To not sell the horse at a loss is I think an unforgivable pre-meditated and self serving decision. It is proved by his current actions.
I would think you would want to snail mail your documents to the appropriate individuals, with a real signature. Someone also needs to make a list of who these recipient individuals are, I do believe someone suggested earlier that not just the USEF, but perhaps sponsors, and, well why not the ASPCA, seeing as they are involved in the Maclay classes. I also understand that it is important to be sure such things are documented to the “right” person within an organization, so that the document will actually be read and recorded.
" the Appaloosa Horse Club has joined the National Federation’s equestrian family, as a 2006 United States Equestrian Federation Affiliated Association. With more than 28,000 members and hundreds of thousands of horses registered through the Appaloosa Horse Club’s International Breed Registry, it’s clear this breed will continue to command attention in the 21st century." USEF Press Release January 5, 2006
I agree with putting pressure on sponsors…even the shareholders would be interested if the Sponsors remain cool to action.
Perhaps the new members of the USEF would be interested in hearing about this issue? What other organizations outside this BB and other discussions could be contacted?
United States Equestrian Federation, Inc : Eq Sports : Breeds
Note the Appaloosa organization is not on the list from the link above. Since Western sports are now “International”…I think there are a significant number of AQHA members competing in USEF events…Now THAT’S a JACKPOT to tap!
In the subculture society of penis worship it would be an advantage.
Snowbird, that image of petting and kissing the money is priceless
And thank you for keeping us somewhat tamed. If its at all possible. We do appreciate having the opportunity to express our views, even when we don’t see eye to eye.
