The "NO REINSTATEMENT" thread.

Only when a male of the species thinks that particular feature is solely a reason for authority. I don’t think most real males feel that way and I have rarely known one who felt his only contribution to this world was the penis.

i.e. the reference to subculture. The reference to size fits in the same culture where big boobs are a critria of femininity. It is true I have neither but I do not think that makes me less a person than I would be with plastic boobs.

I had always admired C. Boylen and was frankly a little surprised at her reaction to this. Perhaps a little disillusioned too.

Done War…

can we all agree that PV killed his horse because it was easy money? he needed the cash now? For whatever reason? He was lazy,… the horse was a total loser… his strip club tab was out of control…

If you are in fact on a USEF committee, how can you sit there and state, it is okay for re-instatement? Do we no longer follow the Sportsman’s Charter? Has that somehow been removed from our rule books? Cause it sure as heck was there when this went down. Just need to know for clarification.

Not only was that immature, that was an assumption that really takes the cake. Personal attacks aren’t going to get you anywhere and only make you look like you have a foundationless argument. Bravo to you.

Murderers and rapists are allowed back into the community after they serve their time. Is it ethical? That will forever be up for discussion. It’s up to the judge, or, in this case, the USEF to make their own decision on Paul’s reinstatement. Not to be crude, but you’re all beating a dead horse. If he’s not reinstated, fine. If he is, there’s nothing you can do about it, despite your petition, e-mails to USEF, and attempts at air on national TV.

I’d love to see him reinstated just so that I can indulge myself on the chaos that will happen among all of you.

On behalf of mothers everywhere; we only forgot what was not important and therefore the loss was incidental. We never forgot to remind you all of what was truly important like clean under wear; socks without holes and proper decorum for all situations.

Perfection is expected and therefore not worth discussing only your errors are worth discussing because they shouldn’t happen.

I was horrified then, and i am horrified now.
Of course, when I was a child i didn’t have horses or ponies in my life at all, i just had a deep love and respect for them.

Maybe that’s where the difference lies. Those of us who are horrified are so, because we love them for what they are. To us, they aren’t a commodity, to be disposed of when they outlive their usefulness. To most of us, they mean more than a handful of ribbons and the prestige of winning them.

What these people did cheapens the whole “sport” of horse showing. They and their kind are not people I would want to consort with.

Serah - it (no reinstatement) will also serve as a deterrant (sp?) for people who think about committing this crime.

My trainer from the late 70’s gave me a Si talk when I started catch riding for other people. I always think the best of people and thought it was just a Si issue. In the late 80’s early 90’s it’s sad, but wasn’t a shock when the indictments came down. Some of these people abused horses at the shows. Killing them for claims made business sense. Maybe some may seem to never be able to lay a mean hand on a horse, but look at the charm of Si.

Keep what up? I can barely understand your points most of the time, and I know it’s not me.

You say you want support but what does it take to get information out of any of you. what is the name of his business and who is it he employs. What are the names of the horses you just refered to. What part of the question do you not understand. You guys are sounding like the country club your accusing the usef of being.
Speak up so we can do something about this. How do you expect the proper sound support when you won’t be specific. Your are sounding like you just enjoy the back and forth of the fight. That will not accomplish anything.

Oxer… I wish you the best Hugs and Kisses Do you sell the glasses you’re wearing?

But, who wants to go the bank and pet your money.

$um people do.

Does anyone know how many members there are in USEF? I cruised around the website and could not find that info. I am wondering what percentage we have of the membership on the petition. ( I know all sigs are not members)

Thanks!

Some years ago, when I worked with the then-AHSA, I believe the total was in the neighborhood of 80k for the entire organization. What percentage of the group is represented in the H/J discipline I don’t recall.

and never, ever… judge a book by the car they drive… I realize that you know what their debt sevice was/is.

Excellent thinking Lucas, not only a fund raiser, but a telling sign of support that is visible. What small child seeing their first horse show would not want the same bracelet that she/he sees the riders wearing? Of course this would required purchasing a booth or table at a show, or convincing a philanthropic show manager to allow the group to use a minimal space for the effort. That would be the difficult part, as the space would offend many cash-paying exhibitors, and I would have to believe the management would want to keep things running in a milk-toast fashion.

Well actually, I was thinking more along the lines of legal arguments. The fact that one person slipped by might make an argument for the others. I am not sure I know what Nancy Banfield did or how it relates to the severity of what the others did, so that is why I asked if a case by case review was most likely what would happen.

Not at all saying I think it is a good idea, Snowbird. Relax, deep breath.

I’m pretty sure the Jockey Club itself wants nothing to do with this gang of haf wits. Maybe you mean you’re getting support from some members of the Jockey Club.

OK-Now you are really all going too far…You wonder what was making these horses perform prior to the incident? Are you accusing the name in question of a crime based on your limited knowledge? I am certain that throughout the very thorough process of investigation that ensued had there been any evidence of cruel training methods they most certainly would have surfaced.
As a boarder at AWF, I can say that the training methods I witnessed at another ‘local show barn’ were unlike anything I have witnessed at Pauls…
Is there any way to press charges for ‘tack rails’? or depriving horses of food completely, because they are a bit ‘too fresh’? perhaps chasing them around an indoor with a lunge whip, to the point of a possible career ending injury? Merely because said ‘trainer’ is afraid of getting on a frisky horse? Or a hard punch in the face of a horse that might nip?
But yet these ‘trainers’ are allowed to continue their cruel and unusual practices and refer to it as ‘training…’?
I think it is fair to say that Pauls ability as a trainer is not in question, moreso his judgement.
Let’s try to stay focused.
