The "NO REINSTATEMENT" thread.

If you have a guitar or a keyboard and even a little bit of a talking voice; you could put your lyrics on a CD and we could sell them on Cafepress…I know it would be our best seller.

mxyplyzyx Aefvue Farm Apres Hunt from the Lounge we bring you Americana at it’s very best. The Lounge Lizard and the Gecco from Alcatraz and the Horse Killers.

How many times have we seen people in the horse world, who, when misfortune unexpectedly comes their way, divorce, illness, death, job loss, they can no longer pay the freight. The horse is for sale but sometimes it takes more than a few weeks to sell a horse, and the horse ends up having to go fast, very fast no matter what or where.
Not uncommon - we’ve all seen it happen. Very sad to see. They are an expensive part of our lives and its heartbreaking I am sure to have it happen to you. It’s bad enough to watch it happen. I dont really think the people it happens to always have time to plan. And lets face it, some people just arent good money planners. Especially if all their money goes into their horses! So the horse has to go and go NOW.
Now I get it…the bad money planners have the E-ticket… How many horses get whacked annually?

War Admiral – maybe you can change the name of this thread so people know you have a petition going, and put the link in your original post?

Just a thought. Thanks so much for all your effort in getting this together.

PS - I signed!

But I do think that those who feel passionately about it should keep tabs on PV and his comings and goings, documenting violations when they occur.

Good heavens, just how would you suggest doing that?

That’s my point. I have no idea. But it sounds as though some folks feel pretty strongly that PV has been violating the Rules. If it’s happening, it should be documentable.

I’m not defending PV. I just think that if it’s as blatant as has been suggested, it should be documented and reported.

OH! OK! fess up who let the dawgs out? Someplace is searching for their escapee.

Dawg did you open the pen and let out all those trolls? Don’t you know you can’t trust the trolls that’s why they all were fenced in or out as the case maybe.

There is no comparison between abortion and killing horses! one has two legs and the other has four legs and they two different species with different levels of respectabiliy.

Four legged creatures are mmore useful. Look Dawg no one got upset when when Joe Plemmons said he killed Helen Brach for money because she was two legged but everyone got uptight when the horses were killed for money because they were fourlegged.

See! it just what you kill and not who you kill. Now, Hitler wasn’t all that bad because he just killed defective two legged creatures who weren’t worth anything and he just took what left because they died without a will.

Horses on the other hand are the valuable thing so of course it’s much worse to kill something with real value.

In case you don’t understand that is toungue in cheek and not foot in mouth!

Is that a disease or a mental condition?

As a member of that committee, I personally concern myself with issues and conditions that currently affect horse welfare.

Enough said. Thank you so much for caring about horses of the past.

I have also been interested in the comments of the Media regarding the new point system which was designed after the Utah fiasco in skating.

There was a lot of dialog about how now the scoring was too objective and instead of a good skate the skaters were more worried about points and how many they could acquire so that the presentations were less artistic and not necessarily related to the music.

After you find out who the person is, you should also post his or her name on this thread so we can all know who it is.

I have tried to stay away from this thread, because it seems to me that what the “No Reinstatement” faction really is about is to discredit the “A” Circuit competitors and unilaterally assuming that anyone who competes on the "A: level of showing condones killing horses for insurance money. So now, you are seeking to piggy-back your cause onto the upcoming Animal Planet series on the Maclay Finals by implying that the kids who are the stars of this series, and who have expended the work and dedication that goes into preparing for this national championship, are the budding young horse killers of the future. I’m sorry, but I find this type of “Yellow Journalism” extremely distasteful and yes, harmful to the sport.

I know of no-one who supports the actions of Messrs Lindeman, Ward, Valliere, et al that occured ten years ago. I certainly am apalled by what they did to those horses. But, I am also outraged when I read the vicious verbiage that this mob visits upon anyone who says, "Hey, I have faith that the USEF Hearing Committee will listen to the reinstatement arguments fairly and dispassionately, and will come to a just decision as to when or whether the miscreants may be reinstated as members of our Federation.

And,by the way, the whole notion of the petition flies in the face of a fair judicial procedure. Juries in criminal trials are often sequestered so that they can’t be tainted by public emotions and swayed by lynch mob histrionics. Your actions, despite what you say, amounts to an attempt at “jury tampering”, and last time I heard, that is against the law!

As someone mentioned earlier, “Get Over It!” And, by the way, the letter that was sent to Animal Planet stated ( as fact) that the USEF was “one by one reinstating” those who had been found guilty of insurance fraud". That just isn’t true…the USEF is beginning to conduct hearings on reinstatement…which is not the same thing as granting reinstatement. Please…when you set out to ruin a sport that others have worked very hard to develop…at least, get your facts straight!

As said by TB or not TB -
‘Don’t you see, it’s not a question of “would he” do something, it’s a question of how much would it cost. He’s already crossed the line. Now, I’m sure that he feels bad on some level for his actions; whether it’s true heartfelt remorse or just “crap I wish I wasn’t caught” sentiments I cannot say. But, I’m sure that for a measly $50k or what ever it was he wouldn’t kill another horse. What, though, if it was $5 million, or $500 million? He wouldn’t need to work for the rest of his life with the latter sum. Why, it might almost be worth the risk if the prize were great enough - certainly that sum would tempt many upright people. But the exacts aren’t important, because there is a price for everything. He’s already proven this; he’s already been bought. It’s not a question of “if,” it’s a question of “how much.” I don’t want to know what the pricetag on me or mine is.’

In a nutshell!

anthem–you said:

I am not saying you have to forgive, that is a personal decision.

I agree.

You also said:

I AM saying the qualifications for consideration for reeinstatement have been met. The man deserves a fair chance.

But isn’t the giving of the “fair chance” also a personal decision?

It is important to point out the importance of the word consideration for reinstatement. Part of that consideration is happening here. Albeit, unofficially.

Hey xegeba, just wanted to say a big huge thank you for keeping this bumped to the very top of H/J all evening. We really appreciate it!

Adventure, one of my biggest points has consistently been that no one is truly willing to come forth with anything concrete against him. He enjoys much respect, and I do suspect if the people on here who feel dead set against him were to approach their trainer(s) and speak of this matter, they would be told to back off and let the USEF decide. Anyone wishing to organize had best also take into consideration the repercussions that may arise in doing so. The walkie talkie incidents have been pretty much given as common knowledge, I have as much as heard people laughing about him chatting with Jane Clark in the parking areas, but then again, prisoners often get visits from nuns, so Jane Clark talking to him is not that absurd.

Excuse me Erin, I wrote a lengthy post and I would like your reasons as to why you removed it. Thank you for your cooperation!

in other words, the organization itself puts up roadblocks to ensure that filing a protest is difficult, time consuming, and costly.

Personally, i wouldn’t want to be a member of any club, group, organization etc. that would open its doors to people who have no respect for the law-abiding members who are good sportsmen, in good standing. If I was a member, then, I would cancel my membership.

But, that’s just me. I wonder if there are others out there who feel strongly enough that they’re willing to cancel their membership.
After all, they can’t operate without you.
or they could, but who would go to the shows?

I

Racetb, I can really relate to your position. I rode with PV years ago, and while his actions certainly changed the respect and admiration I once had for him, I am uncomfortable with actively participating in his persecution. I actually got in an argument last night with my SO because he feels this issue is totally cut and dry, right vs. wrong (he has never met PV or any of the other folks involved). Looking back, I realize that a big part of the reason I left the horse business for years was that I felt let down by many in the business who were involved in this or other dishonest dealings. I think that many, many other people share these feelings, and while it may anger others, there are many reasons one would choose not to sign the petition. It doesn’t mean that we think that PV is god, St. Francis, or anything else.

Did that make any sense at all?

How about a scholarship named after Roseau Platiere for a junior rider? BTW War Admiral, I like the addition to the petition.

At least it wasnt the thud of them hitting the ground and convusing from AC current…maybe we should start and aligator clip clique…
