I had that exact same thought. And yet…

I have to say that I find it super vexing that my live stream has been extremely temperamental for the last hour or more. But now while they are changing the course and dragging the ring, it is working perfectly. Perfectly!

No doubt it will get temperamental again as soon as the first horse sets foot in the ring for the second round.

That’s a good group. I’m a little surprised Skylar is that high (although I’m a big fan of her riding). I’m assuming the judges did not see Avery swap off at the first.

They must have missed it, but I’m a bit glad they did!

A bit surprised to see Dominic so low in the ranking. I thought he was as polished as ever but maybe I missed something?

It might just be the camera angle, but that birch pillar looks like it’s right in the middle of the birch oxer and not very far away.

He’s 23 so that’s right. It was good to see him at our Maclay regionals last month. I had Skylar on top there but she was second.

Skylar and her mom Shayne are good people, including changing a flat tire on Nick Haness’ trailer at the last Oaks show.

2nd Round Course:

Oh boy. They made the cupola everyone was spooking at in the first round skinny!

Wonder if sluggish feed might have been related to the Maryland 5* also streaming on USEF network? Anyway, that’s over now so hope you have better quality for the 2nd round.

Is it specified on the second round course whether you are to go directly to fence 1?

Not sure, but I don’t think so. All I know is what’s posted in the picture.

I didn’t think his ride was up to his usual standard this morning. He had a lovely trip but he was telegraphing every adjustment with his inside arm and shoulder whereas he’s normally much quieter with his body.

Man, I really like Isabel Rudaz’s riding. A bold, forward round that was still smooth.

It doesn’t sound that way from the commentary. Now Oliver Kennedy has been joined by last yearā€˜s winner, Taylor Griffiths Madden.

Now that was the Dominic ride I’m used to seeing. Maybe either too much coffee or not enough this morning. I don’t wish anyone else ill, but I think that’s likely to shift him up in the standings.

What do you think, @supershorty628- how about Luke’s hand gallop to fence 1?

That’s a YES from me, dawg.

I’m reaching the point of the day where I get a little Medal Finals punch drunk. Sorry in advance b/c I anticipate the silliness racheting up.

I’m not seeing where Oliver is saying go inside the birch pillar from 8-9. The pillar is in line with 9? There’s no where to go

Yeah, you’re invited to my house for this next year. It’ll be fun.
