Hi All,
I rarely post here anymore, but wanted to bump this thread due to my own now ongoing legal issues with Dunckley.
I am a former partner of Lisa Dunckley. We became partners initially back in 2016. I trained the two stallions Alberich and Joyride for a number of years before Dunckley broke the contract between us in 2019 and now owes contract penalties in excess of $170,000 .
My team and I filed suit, and the two stallion have liens on them through the Kentucky court systems. Their papers are respectively frozen with KWPN-NA and ISR-OLD. These papers cannot be released until the lawsuit is finished and if they are sold, please be aware that the liens are active. USEF, and USDF which are in my name as parent owner will not release as well. I’m unsure about any resulting offspring from 2020 forward if they can qualify for papers.
I started my lawsuit in October 2019 after she broke the contract, and it has since then been ongoing. The pandemic somewhat complicated things, and the fact that she likes to play lawyer doubles that. She did have representation at one point, but, failed to notify her lawyer that she was declaring bankruptcy back in April. Most likely they are no longer on the payroll.
In April 2021, she attempted bankruptcy (third time in about four years) but failed to show necessary documents to complete it to the trustees, and the case was dismissed on July 28th. My case in Kentucky is planning to go forward and gain judgement, domesticate, and proceed from there, unless she comes to the table to settle.
In short, it’s been a long slow road.
During her 2021 bankruptcy hearing we also were listed alongside vets, farriers, hay men, feed store, the government (student loans), her landlord(s) and several other creditors. She listed us as unsecured at that stage. Her debts are close to 1/2 a million and her listed income for 2020 was well below the poverty line.
In very short terms, Lisa for the third time in three years has been evicted off of the property that she is living on. Most likely back living in a roadside motel that she listed in 2017 as a home address.
As listed property goes, outside of horses, she only has a truck and really the clothes on her back. She does not own an property, vehicles, ect. Under law, we cannot take these as they are considered necessary assets.
Within the court documents she has listed 30 horses now, mostly mares, living on public lands that have not seen a vet or a farrier for at least six months, as they will probably not serve her without payment up front. Alberich and Joyride, also according to court docs, remain out of training and their value has diminished.
If there is to be a sheriffs auction, I will happily pay for the gelding and disclose any medical history that I had with them up until they left.
I would also presume that several of these mares have been in foal or have been bred as she has never had the necessary fencing to keep stallions and mares separate.
Also during this time, she is still advertising under several names, AirDance, Extreme Sport Horses, Bay Area Sport Horses, and combinations thereof, that she can still take mares and foals to foal out. She is an admin of a few FaceBook groups, and occasionally posts on her personal page.
Court docs also show that she has had more than a few mares die in her care. As she does not have even a house to live in at this time, and considering the environment, I would advise anyone who is planning on putting a horse with this woman to strongly not do so.
If anyone has further questions, or would like the case numbers to look at either the lawsuit or bankruptcy hearing, please reach out via email at tempichange@gmail.com (I don’t get here that often), I’m happy to share.
Thank you for posting this!
Unfortunately, I know Dunckley as well and her criminal activities her in California. She rented pasture from a friend between 2019-2021 and she owes in excess of $70k for not paying rent. At this time, she had 53 head! Even though she had these horses on irrigated pasture, these horses were not properly cared for. I have pictures of death, lacerations that were not doctored, strangulation, feet in terrible conditions and including a horse that was shot under the direction of Ms Dunckley. Mind you this horse was not hers nor did she suggested to call the vet. She diagnosed the horse over a phone call. I spoke personally with the owner. She had her mare checked by the vet prior to bringing to Lisa’s pasture. She was a healthy, bred mare. She is breeding these mares every year! Whose mares? Who knows? Don’t think your horses are safe with her. If they are mares, they are being bred. She had approximately 7 stallions which were fenced next to the mares causing these strangulations. Yes…animal control was called! In the pastures, she had young 2-3yo+ maidens in with stallions plus young stallions in the same pasture. I personally helped with a dying foal! She has no clue with this “breeding” program! NO HORSE IS SAFE!!
After our court proceedings, she had to move 53 head and counting off the property. She moved 20 to her place which is only about an acre plus and another 10 to another location. I can see her place from where i live. Mares are still foaling at this time. Young, old it doesn’t matter, its bred! I just learned that she had gone to the local vet under the name of Lisa Terrah
Currently, I submitted to the San Joaquin District Attorney all the court proceedings, documentation, reviews, emails, etc from all her victims in hopes they will put an end to her criminal activities. I’ve learned that these criminal activities stem from the west coast to the east coast as you can see.
If you are a victim of Lisa, please contact tempichange@gmail.com. We are working together to put an end to this person and save the abuse on these horses. Feel free to share!
You should have started with this post and not the others with your shitty tude.
haha not shitty tude just true facts. We are working together on saving these horses. Its quite difficult when a person lives on the east coast and can’t personally see the care of their horse(s) here on the west coast. I’m sure if you’re horse(s) were involved, you wouldn’t be saying such nonsense.
If my horses were involved I would have entered a forum with grace and respect hoping to catch more flies w honey, instead of the vinegar you sprayed all over.
Of course I hope for nothing but the best for the animals involved. I also hope you realize how nasty you were to people trying to help you.
You seem like a fairly intelligent person, I’m a little surprised you couldn’t figure out how to PM a poster. Anywho…… best of luck to the horses.
Last i checked i wasn’t messaging you. “I” will find my way around this site and “I” will try to get in contact with these people. Next time mind your own business.
Just to remind you of your saltyness
Hi All,
Just a quick update to my case. Lisa Dunckley’s lawyer Matt Malone successfully filed to remove himself as acting counsel. As of 10/14/2021 she has not retained new counsel for the Kentucky case. She was advised of her pro se rights during pre-trial hearing on that date and was advised to hire a lawyer by the presiding judge. Trial date is set for December. Either she will settle, or we will proceed with the plan.
@CaliSpirit has privately shared photos and videos of the condition of the horses, and has noted that mares are still foaling out this late into the year on an acre lot with no shelter and dwindling grass. The stallions still run with the mares.
Alberich’s condition is a far cry from what he was developed to, we have not successfully identified Joyride within the herd yet. I have reached out to various people who I do know have mares within that herd to let them know what is going on.
Will try to keep everyone abreast here, but if you have further questions just reach out privately.
I just saw on Facebook that Alberiech has died. Not the type of update anyone wanted, but based on the photos, neglect by Lisa can be assumed.
Sh*t i didn’t put 2 and 2 together before I became FB friends with her who knows when. Glad this got bumped up. Here is the GFM to help get the remaining horses out:

I don’t think we’re allowed to post rescue GFMs on COTH.
It’s been so long I don’t even remember. Not my GFM Im sure mods will delete if needed
Hi All,
This is not the update I wanted to send out, but I wanted to report that Alberich (Armani x Ferro) was euthanized by Animal Control of Modesto, CA. His last moments were peaceful, but until then I am sure his life was hell. I do not have enough emotions or space to wrap my head around what happened, or how we got to this point. All I know is one of the horses I care very deeply about is dead, and for no purpose. I am sorry I couldn’t do more, sooner and that my voice short of achieving what needed to be achieved.
OMG. Poor boy.
I’m not sure where Lisa and her horses are now, but I live in the SF Bay area and I’m probably fairly close to her. I’m happy to help get horses out, if necessary.
What a tragic and senseless waste of a good horse @tempichange. I don’t understand how the animals have not been taken before it got to this? I am sorry.
@tempichange That’s horrible. Poor horse.
@clint has helped out in bad situations with horses before.
Would it be stealing to get a trailer and go pick up those horses? I’m assuming most of them aren’t actually hers? Why is the county not doing anything or charging her for neglect? Or seizing the horses for neglect?
Has the news media been involved? As I would be calling a reporter, city council, sheriff’s office etc.
And if they are in a herd situation surely you could walk out there and look for your missing horse? Joyride? Maybe with a police escort?
What a nightmare. If that was one of my horses there would probably be a trail of dead bodies.
