What's the story behind your bb name?

Another who uses my favorite show horse’s name. Hobie Cat was my name for an OTTB I was given for free as a 3 yo unraced “too slow to do anything” gelding named “Limey Tom.” I did end up racing him a few times (yup, they were right, he was INDEED too slow!) but he needed a new name for the show ring. We did the PJA jumpers and the “Hobie Cat” is a brand of catamaran (flat bottom sail boat) that jumps and skips over the waves and I thought it was neat…hence HOBIE CAT! Their website is http://www.hobiecat.com/sailing/index.html

My name is Summer, so that part is obvious the ‘shyne’ is for several different reasons. The first of which is from the children’s song, ‘this little light of mine.’

The second is from my first year of College. I was away from home for the first time, so I got to live in the dorm. If you’ve been in a dorm, you’ll know that the kids now-a-days have small white-boards that they stick on their doors.

Well, I was very silly , and still am, so since I soon became known to my group of fellow poetry freaks as ‘Summer J,’ I started leaving my ‘signature’ on my door as a sunshine followed by a J. Ha! One would have thought I was the cheerleader type…::

So, with the aol screenname bit, of course summershine was already taken, and so was summershine7 (7 being the number of completion in the Bible), but summershyne7 was not, so I used it, and have kept on using it since it’s not taken in many places, though I did end up exchanging it for another aol name eventually…

When I was first introduced to this BB and posted about a stolen saddle, I was coming in from the barn in about 6 inches of mud and had my shoes sucked right off my feet!! Along with the stolen saddle, rain and mud up to my eyeballs, I was feeling pretty sorry for myself-and what did I say? Woe is me… and in a rare moment of cleverness, hence the name Whoaisme

What breed is Mojo??
And Indy is just that…a barrel of self-importance…But what fun to watch…

Keep the Change is the show name of the horse I’ve been leasing for the past year, though the lease has now ended. 86 has been my number for the past two years at the local shows I go to.

Mine is the name of my first horse, Chal Tagor, which is from his sire, Nigatt, and his dam, Chal Rowana.

Still miss him all the time, he was a great horse.

decades of trainers yelling sit up and ride, really the best riding advice along with forward, forward, forward

back when email was first available I had an idea that having NAG in my name might slow down the porn mail.
didn’t work.

you can also think of me as a warrior princess as in
Liz ATHENA g.

the mensa horse special interest group is called NAGSIG which is where I got the idea of using Nag to express my horse connection.
(I am not a member, I think I read about the group in a Equus mag years ago)

Erin Petersen - I am currently a volunteer at Colorado Horse Rescue!

My screenname, Edwyn Edwyn, is a song title.

Tullyleague is the name of the very small area in County Limerick, Ireland, where my father is from.

I chose 411 not because I’m a veritable font of knowledge and wisdom but because it’s my birthday.

After several horses with a string of bad luck and tons of vet/farrier bills … my mom sent me a shirt with this statement on it. It just seemed to describe all my horses perfectly

Now, I don’t tell mom when one is hurt–“no mom, they are all doing great!” And I certainly wont tell her what I just spent on the vet for my assortment of dogs and cats

DGRH,
Hoot! You are killing me!

My name is short hand for Sunkissed Acres. The name of my rescue and retirement farm which is named for Sunkissed Angel. My daughters first horse, an OTTB we bought from the meatmarket a day before shipping. She remains with me today at 27 years of age.

Mine is not very original- McLean (the town I’m from, which is right outside of DC), and HunterRider (obvious). Funny enough, I’ve only used this usernmae on one other horsey BB because I’m not too sure about letting everyone on the Internet know where I live… Also, I go to college at Sweet Briar, but during the summer I’m in McLean.

My name is Aunt Esther. I have always been known as Aunt Esther, though recently I have also been known as Aunt Esther++++//.

There is no story behind my name. And it is my purse.

I just recently got married and my new last name is Smith. It’s still hard for me to remember that it’s my new last name, so whenever I have to tell someone my name, there is a little pause, and without fail, they think I’m joking. It does sound a little fake and I think it’s funny.

My maiden name is much more unique and I’m enjoying being an anonymous Smith!

RR - I will have to adjust my profile so it says “Ribbon Ho” underneath. Good idea.

…hmmmmmmm…quess how tall my horsey is!
