What's the story behind your bb name?

Well my daughter’s nickname is “peanut” & everyone(at school) would call me peanuts mommy & then the kids shortend it to mommy peanut. It’s stuck since then.

Bumpkin is a pony in the Hobbit.

Bumpkin:
One of the ponies belonging to Merry. Bumpkin was named such during the hobbits stay with Tom Bombadil. When the Prancing Pony Inn was raided, the ponies fled to Bombadil, who later sent them to Butterbur.

If You Look At My Profile

You will see me riding the real “BUMPKIN”

Her show name was Pantomine and her racing name was Fallacy’s Hope (Pan Man x Miss Fallacy).

I prob should change my name to “Elliot” since he is my replacement for Bumpkin after pining for her for 20 years…but I have been Bumpkin on here forever it seems.

Here is part of the Poem in the Hobbit…

Tom Bombadil’s songs

Hey! now! Come hoy now! Whither do you wander?
Up, down, near or far, here, there or yonder?
Sharp-ears, Wise-nose, Swish-tail and Bumpkin,
White-socks my little lad, and old Fatty Lumpkin?

Not too tough to figure it out but Eoin was my first horse that I bought and had to euthanize him 6 months later. He was a dream boat and I was happy to have him that long…

Canter Eoin something I still wish I could do…

Eoin is the Gaelic spelling of Owen and means gracious gift of God. Eoin’s full name was Eoin’s Mirth.

I thought, when I bought him, that God had a funny sense of humor… owning a horse was one of the best things that ever happened in my life AND, one of the most challenging and ironic.

last name (which is what just about everyone calls me) - and 5 and 12…my birthday, may 12, and my lucky numbers…

i try to be original!

i did this thread about a year ago, and got fun responses, but i’ve forgotten most everyones, and there are lots of new people, so i’m glad you made this topic!

Hmmmmmmmm…Wishful thinking?!!

Too many years of tap dancing. A maxiford is a particular tap step. 812 is my birthday.

Bluesy is the name of my OTTB, whom I adore to pieces. He’s the horse of a lifetime, and I know I’ll never have another horse like him.

I’ve done quite a few things with him, including WEq and WP, Showmanship, EP and Eq, hunters and even barrel racing. We also do basic dressage, but I’ve never shown in it.
I someday might even try playing with cows on him.

My bb screen name is the name of my very first racehorse that I owned and trained. I wish I knew where that horse is today.

Pretty boring, Its my Horses Jockey club name. Dont ask me how to pronounce it, everyone says “sanoy” Its supposed to be French but MY french is very limited, anyone know how to Pronounce it in French?? And what it means?? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Sannois, in French, would sound like ‘san wah’ (with a French accent, of course!). I believe it’s a place in France (near Paris) - here’s a link to a hotel there: http://www.cybevasion.com/hotels/france/hotel_campanile…t_sannois_13337.html

My user name is pretty obvious, BUT it started out as horse_hugger. I use that all over the place as a user name. About 10 years ago, I was very active as a volunteer for Colorado Horse Rescue. Someone once asked me what I did with horses and when I explained, they said, “kind of like a tree-hugger, then? So, you’re a horse hugger!” Stuck. Guilty as charged.

Mine is because I’m Festus’s (Fessy’s) mom.

SAS you don’t want the S’s together?! My monogram is SSS I’m thinking of going with S3, and a family friend actually calls me S cubed

Well, the “flypony” part is because I love to “fly” on my “pony!” Both of my riding horses are actually honys (14.3ish), but “flyhony” sounds kind of dorky. The “74” is my birth year.

I came up with flypony when I was establishing my very first email account, many moons ago. It stuck!

I couldn’t get my gelding into a decent canter when I first got him – when we finally worked it out, we cantered EVERYWHERE. I became known as the Canter Queen.

It’s just a nickname, derived from monklee, which is what my little nephew would call me because he couldn’t pronounce my real name, Monica. It stuck, and I’m rarely called anything but lee now (though more colorful names have been used ).

My big girl is a Cleveland Bay/TbX. Hence, CB/TB!

When I was little, my mom used to (lovingly ) refer to me as Tallulah, or Lula.

I didn’t want to make my bb name Tallulah/have any reference to any of Demi Moore’s children. LulaBell just sort of seemed to roll off the tongue, I guess.

If I’d had a horse/pony as a child (or now!) it would have definitely had something to do with that.

i have a whole series of Moe and Indy “fight” shots, though they arn’t uploaded to the internet. Moe belongs to a lady at the barn, and him and Indy are constintly bickering with eachother. Last weekend, Moe was laying down and Indy kept on standing on the ledge of the door and on his tip tip toes and ended up pissing Moe off so bad, he got up and was grumpy the rest of the day. They both have so much personality, that it is the funniest thing when the two of them get together and “face off”

my horse faith. she’s my first horse since moving out to the west coast.

Mine is also real creative… NOT.

L = My first initial
S = My middle initial
M = My last initial
1212 = the number 12 is my favorite/lucky number but to fill in enough letter/numbers for other user ID’s I put it down twice.

I use it as my log in for other things so I don’t have to remember all those ID’s.

My pony is 17.3 hands. And her show name started out as Honey I Blew Up the Pony.

Thus, My Giant Pony.
