Winx, the wonder mare from Down Under.

Just missed the live run, but found the replay here. https://www.news.com.au/sport/superracing/chipping-norton-stakes-winx-charging-for-31st-consecutive-win/news-story/a4839358d6e490480138919f7556e9d5
This one a little bit more of a nail-biter - but she wasn’t going to let anyone get away with it!

Candace Hare (on air personality TVG) said that the strategy Happy Clapper tried was the only strategy that’s beaten her in the past.

Rough on Happy Clapper as out in front isn’t his style. Was a nail biter for me seeing the lead that Happy Clapper opened up on her (about 7 lengths at one point).

23 consecutive Group 1 wins
32 overall consecutive wins

Didn’t see a mention in the write up but I though her owner said she’d set a new race and track record. What I also liked was the owner talking about how good a horse Happy Clapper was and congratulating his connections on a well run race. Real class.

Bowman is talking about a 5th Cox Plate but all the other reports I’ve seen say 2 more races… next in 3 weeks (didn’t catch then name) and then I think 2 weeks after that.

I’d love to see her retire a winner

Love watching her race! Thank you all for posting the results. Being on the east coast, there’s no way I could stay up that late so your posts are my morning news.

This made my Saturday morning, and since it is snowing like mad here and I will not be able to get to ride today, it is nice to start the day with good news.

Does that mare love her job or what. And poor Happy Clapper, trying for 3 years to beat her. He looked good today but not good enough to beat Winx. She’s awesome!

Winx going for 32nd win in succession this evening (our time) in the George Ryder Stakes (G1) at Rosehill; part of the Golden Slipper card.

This is most likely her penultimate race, being followed by the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (G1) at Randwick on April 13.

Owners sound to be doing a thorough job of researching who Winx will visit in the shed, both down under as well as possible overseas candidates.

Listen to the crowd when she starts to make her move! Its so much fun to watch people getting so excited!

Hoping for one more safe race–ideally a win, but most importantly a safe return.

Winx’s last field. She’d got some respectable competition including Hartnell, Happy Clapper and Danzdanzdance.

She’ll be breaking out of PP 9 (barrier 9).

I believe (if I used Google correctly enough, post time tomorrow evening Pacific Time is 10:05pm) (3:05pm Saturday, New South Wales Time).

Yes, came on here to see who else will miss her to pieces.
Boy, did Street Cry have some amazing fillies.
She will be sorely missed.
Nice videe. Thanks for sharing.

Hoping for Winx to go out on top - great mare! But here’s something I did not know: from Skyracingworld.

Australia’s super mare Winx has her sights on a grand farewell in the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes, set for Day 2 of The Championships at Sydney’s Royal Randwick racecourse, on Friday April 12th. In what will be her final appearance, Winx will look to topple US racing legend Arrogate as the all-time leading money earner, with over AU$24 million (US$17 million) in prize money.

Wow.

Go Winx Go!

#33!!
And she goes out in style!

Lovely ride by Hugh Bowman. She looked fantastic.

33 in a row, 25 G1 in a row. All time leading money earner.

She did it again, didn’t she?
Watching the grown men (and women) crying.
Love her!
