I don’t know about cut and dried, but I don’t think it is as complicated and mysterious as some do.
My thinking is this. He is in jail without bond and he has been in jail for around 76 days. We’re told he has a new, excellent attorney. Yet, he isn’t getting him out on bond. The other thing is that the property is now up for sale. That says to me that the LLC (whomever is in charge of it) doesn’t think he is getting out any time soon. Therefore, I believe that whatever evidence the prosecution believes is more in line with the LK statements (even if they vary) than some of these self defense scenarios some of you guys have thought up. I wonder what everyone would think if they didn’t know anything about LK except for the interaction with MB during the month prior to the shooting. This is all a jury will know, assuming it comes to a trial.

As per the early posts on this thread, NJ does not let people out on bond. They are meant to be arraigned in 90 days.

Balderdash. I know MANY normal people who carry as often as possible within the law. These “normal people” are attorneys, physicians, dentists, chiropractors, nurses, veterinarians, pharmacists, engineers of all sorts, insurance agents, real estate agents, bankers, stock traders, securities representatives, staffers and managers and executives in corporate America, mechanics, plumbers, electricians, restaurant and bar workers, chefs, professional pilots, truckers, delivery drivers, etc., etc. We see them regularly at shooting ranges and matches. (Most people have no idea they are eating in a restaurant or shopping in a store with an armed citizen–and hopefully will never find out.)

These folks have no intention of using their firearm. In fact, they hope and pray they will never have to use it (except for target practice). But they are WILLING to use it if necessary to defend themselves and others if faced with the prospect of “grave bodily harm” (a key consideration when deciding whether to shoot).

But yes, people should not carry a firearm unless they are WILLING to use it, and they should be adequately trained to know how to SAFELY carry and under what circumstances they can LEGALLY shoot.

You are proving my point. One does not carry unless they are willing to use it. WTF does that tirade have to do with a guy who picks up a gun to go talk to people because it’s available?

Huh. Sounds like what we need is a list of locally or regionally notorious nutbars grifters or dangerously psychopathic ammies that might drift into your own hometown unannounced. I mean someone like this could be acting out let’s say at 3 degrees of separation from your own circle and you would never know until something exploded into criminal charges.

The people I worked for, man I couldn’t imagine them in this sort or drama. In fact when drama kicked up at a barn I was working for because the BO went crazy, two BNTs left because I left. That’s how I know.

All I know is my employers would take me to watch people warm up while I had down time at shows. They’d ask my opinion about horses they had in training to teach me. I literally had no clue who MB was until he went reserve. Not gonna lie that makes me reflect back on who my employers and trainers wanted me to watch.

If it were cut and dry, the arraignment would have already taken place, not pushing the 90 day limit. That fact alone shows that there are many questions that have not been answered, despite what certain people on CoTH seem to think.

Yes. LE and DA heads are probably spinning trying to keep up with LK’s and RG’s ever changing stories. And by now they have had enough dealings with the two of them that they are silently sympathizing with MB.

Yes I would say that about a woman too. I’ve been that woman and I got the hell away. It’s not easy. It sucks. My safety is priority number one.

MB would give you the shirt off his back. He has helped numerous people out in personal situations. He helped a well known small business owner in the NE get started because he was able to. He is trusting and that is why he ended up in this situation. His brain does not work like LK’s and it would have never occurred to him that any of this would have happened.

You can’t warn people about these kind of sociopaths.

As soon as you start to list what they have done it all sounds so bizarre that you start to look crazy. Especially if the sociopath is in the charm offensive stage. Sucking up to the new person at the barn. Etc.

People will say why didn’t you warn me? And the response is you didn’t even know me and you would never have believed me if I’d said all that while you were still friends. But yeah she’s a known problem.

This is a complete generalization, but most men can be bamboozled by a woman, especially if she is relatively good looking and supposedly with money. Most men don’t think with their brains - don’t respond saying I said MB was having an affair with LK - he was NOT and that may have been another jealousy factor!!! I suspect she and Rob presented themselves as a nice couple when they first brought her horses to MB for training. I believe they were on a “break” when she went to FL and RG didn’t enter the picture for a few weeks when he brought her horses to her and decided to stay.
