Wow. Burghley.
just watched Michael Jung’s fall, all I can say is, “Shoulders back Mickie!!!” I am sure he is still in a state of disbelief that he came off.
She looks pretty flat out on her side in the water to me. I’d categorize it as a horse fall, not a rider fall. If you freeze it, her shoulder hits the ground before he comes out of the saddle, imo.

So happy for Lynn!

CELEBRATE!!! How awesome is that? Still waiting for the video to come up!
Me too!

Niklas has bad luck again. There will be another day.

Lynn and Donner clear with 13.2 time!

Oh Bad luck for Nicklas, he is such a sympathetic rider . His day will come!

Beanie Sturgis 20 at one of the waters. Was it the anniversary splash? Is that where Hoy came off Rutherglen? That one was supposed to be the photo op fence, according to CMP.

Go Laine!!!

Yeah - but they don’t win ****s !
Exactly! The Brits are among the best eventers in the world and helmets sure haven’t helped our Americans improve their dressage scores, as usual they are way down in the standings.
That seems like a bad decision. With today’s technology why wouldn’t you take an opportunity to provide coverage of your event worldwide.
They provide fantastic free coverage available within hours of the competition. It is fantastic and I am very grateful!

Have to say the occasional background shot of Burghley House is so impressive-- would be well worth a visit just to tour that house and grounds-- having nosed about on the website for Burghley House, built by William Cecil. Beautiful Elizabethean house. Great in the background of those exciting cross country videos.

Tim Bourke, I bow down before you…

Lynn’s ride is now up on Burghley TV. Wow, that was amazing!

Seriously, his dressage score is not good but it was one of the most nicely RIDDEN tests one could find. I doubt I could get Obie to trot a 20 m circle. That horse is a beast and a XC wizard but the sandbox is not his domain. He is one of those horses that is great on one phase, but it is the phase that really matters!

Lynn’s video is up!

Lynn’s video shows a smart, thinking ride. The horse seem to be a little bit impressed, but he relied on Lynn. The trust Donner has in Lynn impressed me as much as anything else in the ride.

She was so well prepared. She had a plan for everything. He jumped really well, but a couple of times when he took a second look, nothing he did surprised her. She perfectly supported him, and he listened.

Wow. Let’s get more horses under Lynn, and get her out to all the 4*'s she can ride. Very exciting for the future!!!

They were both friggin AMAZING!

So, I would say that we Americans are off to a great start! Surpassing some top TOP Europeans thus far, Lynn and Donner! Beautifully executed by both of them! WOOT!

And the dressage is not so shabby either!

I couldn’t state it as well as you, I was thinking too how quiet/unruffled yet encouraging she was. Not a lot of theatrics but she was giving him plenty of “come on, you can do this” where needed. Very able to adjust her ride based on what Donner was needing at any given question. Hugely impressive ride I thought.

Litereally my same thoughts. She is my new favorite American rider. That round was amazing! Let’s get her on all the best American TBs.

I have to say that while I sort of miss the live-stream aspect of not knowing what’s going to happen, I REALLY like being able to see the whole ride, end to end, uninterrupted. (Or most of it, anyway). With live streaming it’s so frustrating when a rider I really want to see is on course at the same time as a home town/country favorite and the feed keeps switching away from “my rider” to show congratulatory hugs and smiles at the finish line.

So I’m all for BurghleyTV’s way of doing things, and frankly I’d love it if Rolex did something similar. Even though I’m there, there are rides and fences I just can’t see and I’d love to come home and see what I missed!

Yes this!

And the availability of individual rides, end to end, all 3 disciplines, forever.

Colleen clear with some time!

So proud of Lynn, what a super ride.

What happened to Laine? Where were her stops?
