I am also surprised that Karen had time faults. But the announcer (who I like a lot!) commented that she was “just cruising” toward the end. That is what it looked like from the aerial shot of them.
Perhaps she felt confident that they were within the time allowed and gave him a breather so she had plenty of horse to finish on?
Both Americans coming home with 4 - 5 time penalties is looking pretty good. How are the other countries who have 2 horses to finish doing?
