Yeah that part was a bit of a stab to the heart lol

Eqyss Rehydrant spray is quickly becoming a favourite!

My girl is SO bleached from the sun and her coat is kind of… crispy. This stuff works wonders in putting some softness and moisture back in her coat. And it smells amazing.

My Tiger Tongue finally came in. OMG. Yall did not let me down. Definitely worth the hype! I’m so glad I got a couple for barnmates as well!

Vetrolin Shine. It seems to be more moisturizing and less sticky than other shine sprays. Does a great job detangling, keeps my grey horse clean(er), which is VERY helpful, and I like the smell.

Horseshoer’s Secret Concentrate. The farrier recommended this as my horse had some problems, and it worked well. I keep him on the maintenance dose.

Pyranha fly spray in the yellow bottle. Better than any of the other fly sprays for the bugs around here.

Beastie brushes. Inexpensive, fit my hands just right, and do a great job. Also in cool colors, so they’re easy to find in my grooming kit!

The plain old nubbly grooming mitts. Can be used on either hand, which is-- dare I say it?-- handy?

Manna Pro Peppermint Wafers. Lots of treats that my horse loves for a good price!

Incrediwear polos are pretty awesome. Polos get cold when you rinse them on your horse and stay cool for about half an hour!

I should also mention the Tailwrap brush. Best brush ever IMO. Takes a beating and just won’t break.

My barn mate reports that the tiger’s tongue is awesome for cleaning patio furniture cushions. She uses a different one from the barn one and also has a third one for the dog. She got hers on Amazon.

I had to resurrect this because I thought of one more insanely convenient set up I have (and how it took me 5 decades to think of this, I’ll never know… oh, OK the “technology” isn’t that old, but still…)

Anyway, I set up my wash rack with a hose, cut off valve and attached to that, a quick change female end. Then I bought quick change male ends for the sprayer, a 12" long section of hose (just cut off the end of some reject hose) and a spray washer (like this spray washer ). I just keep refilling it (I use about a 25% ratio of shampoo to warm/hot water in a spare bottle, gently mix it up and use it as a refill (right now I am using the E3 shampoo and it works like a charm, a bottle last all season)

You want to fill a bucket for liniment (or water off the barn), pop on the hose attachment. Spray or rinse a horse? Sprayer. Quick bath? Pop on the spray washer, then go back to the sprayer. It’s a small thing to be able to change attachments so quick/easy (or not spend half your day waiting for the sprayer attachment to fill the bucket), but it really does make your life a little bit easier for not that much money.

Also I switched to the Zero G hose (kink free woven), it’s sort of like a fire hose and way better than previous “cloth” hoses. But it was kind of pricey and I’m sure it could be destroyed if people were not careful (but it is just me, so I trust me with my stuff… most of the time)

For people:

  1. Thinline Wafer Thin Insoles - https://www.cheshirehorse.com/thinli…SABEgIJsvD_BwE These are WONDERFUL for foot pain, especially plantar fasciitis.

  2. Absorbine Veterinary Liniment Gel - https://www.amazon.com/Absorbine-Vet…240&th=1&psc=1 Also great for horses.

  3. Tipperary Sportage Helmet - https://www.ridingwarehouse.com/Tipp…cpage-TSH.html I really CAN feel air moving over my sweaty head.

For horses:

  1. Professionals’ Choice Non Slip Pad: https://www.ridingwarehouse.com/Prof…age-PCNSP.html . A must for the table-backed, barrel-shaped equines among us.

  2. Roma Miracle Brush: https://www.ridingwarehouse.com/Roma…age-ROMBR.html. The amount of scurf this removes (easily) is unbelievable, and is perfect for “scritches.”

  3. Weatherbeeta Memory Foam Half Pad (Ogilvy knock-off): https://www.ridingwarehouse.com/Weat…page-WMFP.html . I wasn’t sure if I would like this pad, but I really do. It does a good job of evening out saddle fit, and it seems to protect both my horse’s back and my own. (I also love Thinline Contour pads.)

Best (and cheapest) grooming bag on the market:

Also, for horses unable to go out and graze during the day, horses on dry lot, or stall rest, I LOVE the Amazing Graze. Fill with hay cubes and simulates 8 hours of grazing for my guy.

Turns out Cashel makes a tote. They call it a “Hay Handler”. I picked one up at Riding Warehouse during the Labor Day Sale. It’s longer than what I currently have (and had lost it temporarily about a week ago…I was a bit frantic. ) but should be just fine. Easily as wide as a 3-string bale…and with the extra length, I could legit carry about 4 flakes easily. Yay!

Wow that looks like a great buy!

I also love my quick change hose adapters!

I definitely needed this recommendation! My dark bay/brown gelding’s coat gets so ugly and dry looking in the summer.

Love that tote! I use a toolbox as a grooming box, but didn’t think about the totes! Thanks for the tip!

I can chime in with a recent-ish buy that I’ve been appreciating with our flooding rain lately–Noble Outfitters Muds. I have a tall insulated pair for winter, and bought the short “stay cool” Muds for warm weather. I’ve been living in those things around the barn off and on all summer and almost each time I stare at my feet at least once and think about how much I love them. They’re pretty cute, really comfy, and keep my feet nice and dry.

I had to think about this for a while. What do I use year after year, horse after horse?

  1. It’s got to be Dressage Sport Boots. They are quick, simple, and wash great. This would be followed by Heidi Boots, which are a little thinner (less padding), but similarly easy to use and durable.

  2. Ariat paddock boots. The footbed is still more comfortable than anything else I’ve tried. (For cleaning them, Sergio Grasso boot cleaner.)

  3. Sunshirts. Living in a dry climate with constant sunshine, I wear them almost every ride. (My favorites are Noble Outfitters because the arms are nice and long. For slightly cooler days, I like the Ariat Tri-Factor shirts.)

Fun thread!

DITTO.

Mine came in just in time for Opening Day of my hunt and it’s AMAZING!

Equiderma lotion for cannon keratosis/ crud. Works in one use.
