Does anyone recall IM saying they knew everything about the USEF complaints and had read the SS report or did I hallucinate that? I wondered when their post was made if they had made such statements.

I remember reading that some what recently when I was going thru IM posts looking for something. I do not remember where it was though.

I am sure I have pointed this out to you before but in case you just missed it the last bunch of times it was said, LK has admitted that she has shot at someone, her boyfriend, because she was mad at him.
So… your point does not apply to LK.

I guess per some posts here, when my farrier cancels and reschedules for a week later it is abusive to my horse.

I have been curious about that. Do we know for a fact that she paid the workers for him? Did that info come from her? Given her penchant for obfuscation, fabrication, embellishment, and outright lying, it’s a bit hard to believe anything that comes out of her mouth (or off her fingertips, as it were).

It is something she posted on Youtube I believe. Right along with long post telling everyone that she was the best and most dedicated rider at MB’s barn.

With every post of the pro LK clan it becomes more and more pronounced that there is no excuse too absurd to excuse her malignant behavior.

Who the hell would pay for shoes on four horses for a person who should be leaving when you know you’ll never in a million years get that money back?

LK was the owner and its her job to secure shoeing. Just like every other owner does but for a few.

It depends on the barn. I get my own farrier. Some barns provide complete service and schedule the farrier for their clients. What was customary at MB’s barn?

I don’t think whatever the previous arrangement was really mattered. My point was if, as has been stated at the trial, the Barn owner/ trainer told the farrier not to shoe their horses,
(which apparently the farrier had been doing all along and being paid for his work)it doesn’t matter if LK was willing to pay him directly, the farrier is not going to do her horses and then possibly lose the business for the whole barn. Even if she was able to get another farrier to come I doubt he would have been allowed at the barn. Especially if the goal was to make things uncomfortable for her so she would leave.

Something that irks me in the back of my head is that if they were more transparent, then we may see a lot more victim silencing and blaming, a lot more people reluctant to report (first or second hand), a lot more proactive shenanigans to avoid getting caught, etc.

See, I’m wondering the other way. If more people understood the process, maybe they’d be more willing to be a part of the process.

Probably there are people in both camps. It’s so hard to know what the answer is.

You could also argue the other way. I had someone steal my ATM and pin. I had video evidence that was passed on (through proper chain of command - i.e. not me) to the NYPD. They (DA) declined to prosecute for a whole host of reasons, despite the fact that evidence was cut and dry. If a prosecutor declined to prosecute, but someone was clearly guilty, that doesn’t mean the person is innocent.

Now that I agree with. But in the case of an acquittal it just seems unfair to me to go beyond what a judge or jury found in court.

From what I remember of the testimony, the farrier told LK he wasn’t going to shoe their horses because of what “they were doing to Michael.” There was no mention that he wasn’t going to shoe them because MB told him not to. He could have made that decision himself after hearing through the grapevine about the situation. Word seems to have travelled fast.

It was after that when Lauren texted RG “finish the b******.”

I think this is a sticky wait-and-see, but as far as past actions by SS in our realm (mostly in my discipline, it seems)… I stand behind them 100%. I anticipate more coming out in years to come based on things I witnessed or heard of in decades past. Time’s up! I also met with someone from a different sport in person pre-pandemic who used to comment here on SS-related threads. I was horrified that they (not an equestrian) knew about a lot of what I had heard and more. It’s a reckoning. As for what they do with this case? Uncharted waters. But I believe in SS and its mission.

If there is a no contact order why is she posting on YT about MB or MHG? Particularly making claims about paying his employees!! Who does that? She really does flaunt her ability to ignore what she is officially told to do. This ignoring a no contact order is especially concerning for when MB is released. Hopefully significant restraining orders will be filed and the local PD is better trained than the MCPD! Society’s rules simply don’t seem to apply to these folks.

Since we are trying to be grammatically correct, I thought I would point out that the more common term is “cut and dried.”

That said, I agree with your synopsis - just because a prosecutor declines to prosecute someone doesn’t mean the perpetrator is innocent. They may be considered “innocent in the eyes of the law” since they were never convicted, but their soul is not innocent.

And every time I get a new pharmacist they make a comment about it being an interesting choice for a dog…a girl dog…

It was originally marketed for heart things I thought so I am not sure why the pharmacist would not get that.

Are you asking the basis for my question as to how would LK and family think the horses would be cared for by the same people who just shot her twice and whom she had been at odds with before? It seems that all parties were concerned with safety and horse care. RC was sleeping in the barn aisle outside of Didi’s stall. LK was worried about barn fires. Her family was worried about horse care after she was shot twice. It was a deteriorating situation. This all came out in court.

Sorry, that argument makes no sense. (Or as we say in the south, that dog won’t hunt.)

People that concerned about the welfare of horses would not have abused horses belonging to someone else, nor would they have neglected to provide critical care for them as needed. Unlike a certain other couple living on the proper, MB/NHG/RC/JH, etc., just don’t sound like they are vindictive enough to willfully harm someone else’s horses.

Oh, and another thing - didn’t LK allege that the reason MB tried to “murder” them was because MHG wanted her horses? Now why in the world would someone allow abuse or neglect to happen to a horse she was wanted for herself?

Sorry you lost me with MB and company not being vindictive enough to not care for the horses when MB shot LK twice. I don’t think anyone was quite rational. Per Eggbutt, LO closed the barn and paid to ship MB’s horses to Florida herself with no help from MHG, JH, or RC. So if what Eggbutt heard and repeated is correct then it’s not that they were vindictive as much as not responsible.
