Sadly it is. The good news is one of her ex-stepsons is in the Canadian Harness Racing hall of fame and retired to be an excellent race commentator at Woodbine Mohawk who still jogs horses in the morning.
OMG
Look at him go.
His legs look so much better/stronger.

Update from RRR
Asombro is looking much better after just a short time.
Can’t wait to see how he looks in another couple more weeks with quality care.
with the head up it appears he is seeing a promise of life ahead
Horrifying and confusing. I didn’t see where the details of why he was in a “sling” were posted, but hopefully he is able to make a meaningful recovery.
The mentions of Monica Thors… shudder.
@BeeHoney, here is a screen shot of someone answering that question when I asked it at the beginning of the thread.
the persons named sounded SO familiar and when you google the name it loops you right back to a thread here on COTH from 2014
Which persons name?
Monica Thors.
There’s a 2020 or 2021 thread about Ms. Thors, too.
The COTH Curiousity snagged me & I Googled MT
I was tempted to look for the FB page, but decided against it. Wisely.
Many years ago a young nitwit at the barn I boarded used a Dremel on her horse.
With similar results.
TG the Trainer stopped her at the first sign of blood
WTF is wrong with people?
Nevermind, there’s no logical answer.
I might need an Asombro t-shirt to cheer me up
Used a Dremel? To do what? I’m confused.
Trim their hoof down to nothing I assume since that is what the other person being discussed did.
Uh. I heard of using tools to trim and I’m sure this can be done good. But “down to nothing” sounds like bad use of the tool
The woman was/is seriously mentally ill.
Read this and you won’t be smiling.
Google her name and you might see some info that isn’t shared in the COTH thread. I know the Facebook group is long gone.
Trim hooves.
Quicker than a rasp.
Safe when used by a competent person.
Gosh… I’ve read this article… And I honestly thought “down to nothing” was an exaggeration. It’s not… Horrific.
